Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this...

My wiper washer light came on and I filled the reservoir with fluid. (it was a regular brand - nothing special)

However, now every time I cold start the truck - the light comes on until I warm start it 2 or 3 times - then the light stays off. Sometimes the light will go off while driving after the second start when the engine is warm.

I haven't checked the wire to the sensor in the reservoir and I don't know if the sensor tip inside the reservoir can get a film on it or if there is some other potential issue.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Has there ever been and rain x in there? That can sometimes gum up the level sensor. If that's the issue you'll need to get some sort of drain brush to clean the sensor. That happened on my the my old Ram. Just stick the brush in the reservoir and give the sensor a quick scrub. I found my brush at Walmart.

I tried with an old tooth brush taped to a small rod - but I don't believe it can reach the sensor - not the depth - but to the side - down below - of the filler opening.
I'll try a different brush - or pulling the sensor and manually cleaning it.

A drain brush is long enough. It works great.

I used a baby bottle cleaning brush taped to a thin metal rod and slipped it down into the filler neck opening. Then I managed to brush up and down and twist it around - and ever since = no light!
