Wow, what a difference! I've been talking about doing this mod for a year now and keep forgetting about it.

Wow, I wasn't expecting it to be that dirty. Maybe I should look into this mod.

Where is that thing located in the truck? Mine has only 3k miles on it, but i'm just curious on where it is, just in case i need to replace it.

the filter in my car gets so dirty it starts to implode/develop a bubble because of reduced airflow due to debris. It's GROSS what it collects.
Can't wait to get this done on the truck. I can't think, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, why they would delete this feature??

it's not located anywhere, you have to install it. check out the DIY threads and there's a thread there showing how to do it step by step. pretty inexpensive mod, and as you can see, will definitely add years to the life of your lungs :********:

Everytime I see a thread about this I think damn I need to do this mod. Then I forget about it. What a difference though between clean and dirty

I have thought about this......but I defeat the idea by running with the windows down quite a bit. :D

You have to do the mod. Go to the tech section and you'll see the Cabin Air Filter mod thread there.

Amen to that buddy

I recently had to take my hvac unit out to fix my heater and you seriously wouldnt believe the amount of crap I found clogging the evaporator core and in the box itself. The unit itself had dirt all over inside and there were tons of leaves in there....

Haha I bet. I cant believe how easy it is for small leaves to get into it, ive dropped my fan at least 5 times in a year just to remove leaves from it. Then i looked inside and there was a pile in front of the evaporator

For the fan? The only thing you can really do if you remove it is get out whatevers stuck in the fan. You might be able to remove crap on the evaporator but not very easily. The fan is just held up by 3 screws in the passengers foot well
