Assuming I may need a d ring for something like a car. Is there anything i should look for in a d ring.. Do they have capacities?

Same thing can be said about the ball everyone is saying not to use......
Never seen or heard about a ball breaking... I have a 2 5/16 pintle combo that strap goes on and close the pintle... Or I've done the pin in the hitch as well...
Alright thanks. So two straps and two d-rings should do it.
Just a little illustration of what could happen with these. https://youtu.be/hAY0oVwuzNY?t=1m52s

Hopefully this helps. Get a 7/8" or larger and it should take care of all your needs.

Found it. Hehehe.

Going to revive this thread...
Looking at the specs on these rings, it looks like I can only get a 7/16 shackle because the pin diameter is .5" and I measured the pin hole diameter on my tow set up and it was .5" as well. Am I wrong or missing something?

this mount says it comes with a 3/4 inch shackle but do you think I'd be able to fit a 7/8 on there?
