You heard right. Going to be dropping down in my tire size. Currently run 37x13.50x20 Nitto Trail Grapplers and will be switching to a 295/65R20 Toyo AT2. Now I love the 37's and would keep them, however, I am going to be driving much more highway for my internship and I need to pick up some more mpg's and ride comfort. The toyos wiegh 28lbs less per tire than the nittos, are 1.5" shorter and 2" thinner, not to mention less aggressive. With my gear swap to 4.56 I figure I should have no problem activating the MDS at highway speeds (65) which it cant do right now but can at 55. I'm sorry to dissapoint all of you :roflsquared:. I'll let you guys know how I like them.

It will deff help..how ever I think the 6" coupled with 35"s you may be shocked at just how little it helps. Especially since on the hwy over there the speed limit may be 65 but everyone drives 80. I want ur gears.

Good thing about the toyos is that they have a 45 day 500 mile return policy. Also I think my truck will pull a hell of a lot better with the new tires.

Are you going to drop down your lift at all?

No I'm not dropping the lift at all. Believe me I contemplated it a few months ago, however, my fiance was not on board with the idea. I am kind of over having the lifted truck though. Looks cool as hell but fairly impractical. I'll be looking at the new Rams when they redesign them in 2018 for the HD's. The plan is to get a 1 ton Cummins and leave it stock. Maybe I'm getting old at 25 :sleepy10: the two tone is my favorite!

Ha! That's funny. I too love the lifted trucks, to a point. Love the look of 35"+ tires on 15" rims, etc. But now at 44 years old all i want is a level and some 295/70/18s on my 2500. Practicality becomes more real with age. You must have the early-onset version of it.

+1. If amp didn't make the bed step I'd be ******** about how hard it was to get up onto the tailgate on a stock height truck:)

When I drive my fiancés fathers truck, it makes me jealous of how smooth and clean it drives. It also doesn't get extremely dirty in the rain like my tires do to the sides of my truck.

I loved my AT2's when I had them on my 14 Silverado. Quiet, smooth and handled pretty good offroad for being a AT tire. Still depending if i want them again on this truck or just get MTs.

Right Now, can your fianc'e talk to mine about supporting the lifted truck idea lol. hahahahahahahaha.

112 lbs reduction in rotating mass should def help your acceleration alot. curious to see what kind of mpg you get back if any !

I'm thinking with the weight drop, the shorter, thinner and less aggressive tire it should go up without question. Luckily the 45 day 500 mile deal will keep me safe.

Well I guess I can't get the toyo at2 so ill now be getting the Nitto terra grappler G2 in 285/65R20. 0.3" thinner. And 0.5" shorter. About the same weight too. Bummer since I really liked the toyos but these are very similar.

Americas tire didn't have any way of getting any as they are back ordered. I do save about $200 going with the nittos though, so I guess there's that.

I cant wait to see them on your truck. I am just leveled and I know the 35's look good but I don't need an MT. 285 65 20 is my factory size anyway.

Hate the thread pattern on the Grapplers. Just not mean enough for me. Why I like the AT2's and with the AT2's extreme you get an even more aggressive pattern with A/T properties as far as comfort and sound.

Nitto is a better tire anyway imo, hopefully you net a little gain in MPG for the sacrifice in looks...
