0w-40 Castrol Edge Synthetic (German/Belgium) since first oil change (on third now).

Around $30 shipped for a 5qt jug from Amazon.

Immediately noticed quieter cold start up vs. factory fill.

been using this since first oil change, 20,000 miles in now with noticeable quieter cold start as well. $24 5 qt jug at Wally world. Originally used it because that was the only 0-40 I could find.

next 3 changes will be the SRT Pennzoil stuff since I finally got a hold of some. We'll see how that compares.

I happened to be at wal-fart yesterday and saw this and the European Mobil 1 on the shelf. I liked the looks of the Castrol edge personally. It's a full synthetic and seems good quality. I prefer valvoline oils, but i didn't see any 0w-40 there.

Don't let the 0w scare you. The engineers that designed these engines know what they are doing. If you don't want to chance warranty issues, ensure you use the correct viscosity oil. Just my .02.

Do some research and you'll find the Castrol Edge 0w40 is probably one of the best oils out there right now. I run it in my 3.0L BMW over here on the autobahn and I assure you it's no slouch of an oil.

The people that use the viscosity other than that's recommended buy Dodge must not care it their motor will ever need repairs.
If you can trade the truck while still in warranty, I would not care either.
I supply my own oil when I take my truck into get the oil changed at the selling dealer, he will not put in 5w-30 oil, if I was to want that put in, 5w-20 only.

What engine takes 5w-20?

Nice, thanks for that. I have one free oil change at the dealer coming, then I'm on my own and will probably use the castrol edge. Can't beat Wal-Marts pricing on oil

I run a Valvoline synthetic blue that is certified by Cummins.

Stick with what the Viscosity on your cap says.

Pic for reference.

True. Believe it or not, I have to get the German/Belgian-made oil from Amazon with a 10 day turn. On the economy, oil is about 30 Euro/liter.
