Hello... I am a BMW/VW car guy, and have always used an oil extractor on all of them. I just bought 2014 Ram 1500 with the 5.7. This is my first Ram/Dodge, and was wondering if anyone else does the top-side oil changes? Please, I don't want to hear about the negatives of it, just want to know if it can be done effectively with this engine. TIA!

Considering you still have to pull the oil filter from the bottom of the engine, there's not much advantage to pulling the oil out topside.
The 3.6 would probably be worth going topside.

I just watched a video, and I agree. I guess I should have done that first. Thanks!
