Hey guys, ill be doing some performance upgrades here soon to offset the added weight of new tires, wheels and lift kit. i wanted to see if anyone has done a combo of Tuner, 87mm TB from moes, and cat back exhaust? how does it feel and what can one expect in total increase of the 3, HP wise? also, i have the 3.73 gears, but those are being changed in July to 4.56 gears. Thanks for any feedback/knowledge!

Intake/TB/Headers/Tune will net you good gains. Viking has those plus a higher stall torque converter and he put down something like 365 to the wheels which is 50-60hp more than stock.

only 365 to the wheels with all those upgrades? if you pay someone to do those your looking at 3500 or more in parts and labor. i would think that only about 20% or so is lost in the drive-train right?

On a 4wd truck with a heavy wheel and tire you are going to loose more than 20% through the drivetrain. I was running a 96lb 20" wheel/tire combo during the dyno run. Never had a stock dyno run so can't compare apples to apples. Dyno runs from K&N and MBRP showed 292 and 316 respectively so take that for what it's worth. Using the race tool on my Diablosport I've recorded several 6.5 sec 0-60 runs when it doesn't spin. My truck is a bit over 7400 lbs with me driving so that should give you a better idea of performance gains if you compare it to yours.

The tuner is a great mod as long as you don't just use one of the canned tunes. Long tube headers should be high on your list, along with a torque converter and gears(which you're already doing). The 87mm and cat-back are going to provide minimal performance gains compared to the other mods. Most of the mods are easy to make with the exception of the converter and gears.

Or, if you want to go with the nuclear option just wait for Whipple to release their 6.4 kit this year.

i appreciate your input theViking. i guess for the headers and torque converter i was optimistic hoping for much more. headers are 1700+ with installing yourself. i've been following Whipple and im guessing that's the next option for me, considering the cost compared to others.

The gains Viking picked up are significant. Yea it's a quite a bit of money but you're talking 20% hp gains over stock to the wheels, roughly. If you could imagine your current truck as is with an additional 50-60hp that will be incredibly noticeable and not to mention the drivability changes from the tune. I say go for it! A little rich for my blood but I'd love to see another stout 6.4 build

i agree! its definitely $$$ but for better sound, HP, MPGs and drivability it sounds worth it. I will look to do these add ons down the road or sure.

Get the tune and the gears first-
Those two will
Net u the most and you will feel it-
I would love to do all those mods just don't have the $$. for 33"s- 35"s id go 4:56 and for 35"s- 37"s id go 4:88"s.

ya i think gears, throttle body and tuner will do. i know headers are a great add but too much for only 20-30 HP.
