Haha well in his defense he purchased it solely for traveling out west and he picked it up for $100, so not bad. I think it was from a first gen ram. But I still will give him crap for his old man lookin truck

It definitely needs a good wax and polish, it's been in the shop for about 3 weeks and it's covered in bondo and dirt. Saturday should be the last day of the project, hanging the bumper, flares, and a good power wash

Put in a new rack and pinion today. The old one had been leaking since I bought it, finally bought a new one. Since I have to get a front end alignment from tearing apart the suspension I may as well replace it now

Here's the suspension before

All painted and finished

2003 Ram build thread

So full list of parts that got replaced...

Keith Black dome top pistons
Howard's Cam Double Roller Timing set
6.1 Oil pump
185 thermostat
6.1 exhaust springs
6.1 pushrods
Comp 260 cam
Edge 2800 stall converter
Upper control arms
Ball joint
Tie rod end
Rack and pinion
Transmission pan
Feels like there was more. This truck better be a lot faster after all this haha. Once the engine is broke in I'll decide if I want 4.56 gears. Also deciding on a new hood, one with the hood scoop and vents. I guess we will see how long before I get the itch again

I would love to see 4.56's dropped in that beast, but that's because it's not my truck lol. I'm really wanting to throw on 4.56's in mine but worried about highway RPM'S. Love the build though (I'm sure I've said this already ha.)

Yes the highway rpms is what's holding me back at the moment. I would love the acceleration but I drive a decent bit of highway to work everyday. I already only get 15mpg on the highway, not too interested in seeing that drop...

Finally got around to ordering the Spintech Pro Street 9000 and it arrived this weekend. 4a54cb5d636d28ab75ae9e96b8506cc0.jpg
Hopefully it will take care of the obnoxious drone that my summit racing muffler has. Can't wait to install it this weekend, seems like I have either time or money, never at the same time though haha. I'm debating on taking it to an exhaust shop to get the pipes reworked to dump downwards 3991f3e4097a21d22c26613df0d428be.jpg

I love the way mine look! Was thinking of a new cutout bumper but did this instead.

Couldn't do the sharper angle because of the length of the tips but i still like the look.

Not bad! I still kept the straight out the back dials. I couldn't bring myself to ditch a $200 cat back just for a different look. If I ever decide to change it up, I might make a custom single side exit, I kinda like those

Well here's a start up and idle video. Still don't have a full walk around yet, working on getting my wheel well covers sprayed. Haven't had the time yet. But it sounds awesome [emoji41]

Sounding mean brotha. What tails are those and is that tint how they came or did you smoke them more?

Ebay taillights, they came with a smoked lens. I absolutely love the look of them. I just need to put a brighter led bulb for the reverse light

I agree, a lot of aftermarket lights look cheap and gimmicky, but these one look great to me

Finally got the wheel wells cleaned up and sprayed bedliner on them. 1daa5d14b5a2231ed375ec8d81e2a090.jpg

What product did you use to clean the wheel wells, I have mine out of the truck because of an o2 sensor. I dropped exhaust at the manifold flanges to gain an extra inch or 2. Wasn't much but I got it to work. Anyway I'd love to do this. And are you still using spray on bedliner product you talk about in first few pages of thread? Thank you & this is a killa thread.

I just used soap, water and some scrub brushes to get rid of the grease. I had some bad ball joints when I bought the truck so there was some serious caked on grease. I was scratching up the plastic with a metal scraper, so I ended up removing most of the dried grease with a drill and wire brush. It actually worked pretty well. I had to keep scrubbing and cleaning them, then sprayed with the same bedliner as everything else
