They're actually die cut rubber and yeah, when you order, you pick what you want them to say and choose between several sizes, fonts and colors. They're glued on - Takes about a total of 2 hours to do all 4 with prep and everything. They're basically part of the tire once they're on, but they have several levels of adhesive in case you only want to try how they look or just have them on for a single car show, etc. Mine are the permanent ones - No affects from pressure washing, etc. I loved the look of them on classic muscle cars and, especially on my Charger, it crossed the old school muscle look with the modern. I think they look great!

IMO i think they look good with a black rim, but this is one of those mods that is a case by case situation, some builds can pull it off and some cant

Reminds me of the old wide whitewalls in the day. I don't believe they would hold up very long out hunting and fishing the back country.
