need a quick answer for 4x4 service light

if my tire pressures are low will the 4x4 still work? i am getting a 4x4 service light and my truck wont go into 4x4.. i am currently stuck and need a quick answer

It wouldn't have anything to do with low tire pressure.

my 11 through a code for "unequal tire size", cleared code and all was well for the next couple of years. so if you have one tire that is low enough to read as the wrong size tire it code affect the 4wd system.

Have you driven through the water? Specifically a puddle where your 4wd connector could have gotten wet?

My 2014 1500 had same issue was the connector to the t case moisture got in it and coroded the connection dealer did it under warrrnty then i got home packed it with electrical grease and wrapped it with plastic and tie wrap had no issues again

nope!

i think that once i get it fixed i will have to op check more often thru out the summer months, this was the 1st time i used it since last winter. i usually dont turn it on unless i need it, as in this case. got the tank home tho and is parked, for now..

there wont be no issues if i drive it with the light on will there? i imagine it will be a week before i can get it in.

Mine came on a few times when I would drive through a lot of water but then eventually turned off after I believe it dried out. No issues with the actual 4wd working. I don't see there being an issue as long as you stay in 2wd just to be safe.

where can i find this connector that may have the moisture in it? a picture would be extremely helpful!

I believe the 2500s have a center axle disconnect, I would suspect this. Turn the key to on but don't start the truck. Put it in 4Lock and you should hear the motor for the axle disconnect. If not, I would start looking there.

it is under warranty but do to the snowpocolips that is going on the dealerships have been closed. if it is just moisture i could dry it out and put it back together till i get it in..

So today went to car wash, just got like 9" of snow the day before and the 4wd light is blinking even though I'm in 2wd weird cause the transmission is acting crazy unless I put the tow option on.

You got some problems if you hit a puddle and the connector gets moisture inside, those are supposed to be water tight.

well i got her in the shop today to get it checked out, it is the module as suspected.. currently the light is out, as it went out when i got close to the dealership.( i think these vehicles know when to be good and stop acting up) luckily when i put it in 4x4 mode it came back on and the dealer was able to diagnose it for me. new module here in a couple days when the part comes in. then i will be back to the nice weather cause we know the snow will disappear but hopefully i will be ready for the next snowpocolips!
