While the spare was out I went ahead and cleaned the undercarriage

I added some tire dressing and moisturizer and the final result

the body just got a basic wash and dry this time. I was already 7hrs in at this point. Next time Im planning to polish and wax the body as well as adding some protection to the door sill.

Makes me realize I need to do some thorough undercarriage and wheel well cleaning. Hell, if you did that just once every six months it would make a huge difference long term.

Your underwear?

Probably the fact that he just agreed to pay. Haha. I need to do the undercarriage and wheels wells sometime soon. It's just been raining so much here lately, and always windy. Makes it difficult.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you coat the undercarriage and wheel wells in WD40 to help prevent dirt and road debris from sticking? I could swear I saw a thread once where a guy was showing off his truck and said he coated the undercarriage once every six months with WD40. It still looked new.

I don't see why you couldn't. I usually use something called coverall. It does a pretty good job and lasts a good bit too.

You can see where I purposely missed a spot to see how long it would last. This is after a spray down with a pressure washer and it raining a few times. Seems to keep the color fairly well

I want to do that.... my truck has just 1400 miles on it... so maybe no need just yet...

when it rains, I drive my wife's Mazda 3 :)... it saves gas too :)

Thanks everyone for the comments.

I've never heard of that before. I know wd40 is petro based and I've heard its a etching agent so it may work for awhile but I think it could end up drying out the plastic liners. The stuff i use moisturizes the plastics to keep them from cracking. I use simple green for most of the undercarriage.
