How much a drop do I need for my Reese hitch. I need to buy one and need to make sure what to get. I don't really want a adjustable one if I can help it. All I tow is a 17ft bay boat and a Honda rancher on a 5x10 trailer. So let's hear those recommendations

Measure the height of the trailer coupler sitting level, then measure the distance from the ground to the hitch. remeber theres gonna be some squat with some weight on there. i went twith a adjustable to be safe but id say around8-10in drop

I have a 6" drop Reese. I tow a 25' ttop boat around ~7000lb fully loaded with fuel and gear without any problems.

I needed a 10" drop to get my utility trailer to sit level.........needed the 6" drop before the lift.......

Finally broke down and bought one of dem fancy Weigh-Safe aluminum ones, nice but not cheap.

I guess it all depends on the tire size and hieght of the trailer deck. I have a 6" lift and tow my raptor on a little 5x8 trailer, I use a 5&1/2" drop and it sits just a tad high on the tongue end.

Keep in mine that your lift may not have raised the back 6". Some raise the front 6" and make it level with the back. The advice to measure is spot on, plus keep in mind the trailer weight pulling the back end down.

I have a 4" lift and pull a bass boat or a utility trailer. I tried a 4" drop, but that put a lot of tongue weight on the back and made the truck sit nose high.

I am going to spend the extra to get an adjustable hitch.

i recommend the adjustable. its a tad more money up front but if your ever swapping trailers around u dont need to worry about different drop hitches and tow safety. i tow my boat and a car trailer and i have two different settings for both to make sure the deck is nice and flat
