First of all Hello to all as mentioned I'm new to the site and have already found so much needed information!

Currently I'm running a 2016 Quad cab Outdoorsman with the Express & towing package.
2" level on 33/11.5/20 K02's with Fuel Mavericks, I do love it and it rides like an absolute dream!
Now I'm toying with the idea of putting a 6" lift kit and possibly moving up to 35s. I know with the 3.21 gears the 35's are a no go but my truck has the 3.55

Question being. will the 3.55 handle a 35 inch tire with out massive power lost? I do understand there may be slight loss.

OR

will a 6" lift with 33" tires look stupid with the smaller tires?

Thanks guys.

b51f6b7c89e364640d66190b8c16c8df.jpgI had 3.55s and the 5.7 on 35s with my 5" lift. Loss of power was slightly noticeable. Much happier with my new truck that has 4.10s8355030a40a7f231f32c96168c3eb345.jpg personality I wouldn't go past 33-34 with the 3.6

The 355 differentials will have a power loss , but not substantial enough to not consider running , many have the 355 s with 35" tires and say it's fine .

Welcome to the forum Sir from Bristol Tn.

Imo , install the 6" Zone with bils up front @ 2.1 - 2.8" and the 5" rear coils and 35" tires on 17 -18 " wheels and you'll be fine .

You think the V6 will hold up with the 3.55s?

For a more solid answer , wait till you hear from someone that has a 3.6 on 35s ....
Sorry , I missed the 3.6L part , as I was focusing on the 355 differentials. ...

3.55 and 8 speed is okay. Most of us that regeared from 3.55 had 5/6 speed transmission and that combo the 3.55 is too tall for 35's to be fun. You can always try it and then regear if you don't like it. That is what I did and I don't have the 8 speed. The 8 speed had an amazingly low first gear making it far less of an issue. The 3.6L is powerful we are just so spoiled these days with stock power we forget.

As RLK said, I'm sure someone here has done it.

I personally wouldn't do it...but then I wouldn't buy a full size V6 ram. Nothin wrong with it just not something I would do. Adding more weight/rolling mass will reduce power, mpg etc...

As for looks, that's subjective. My opinion is 33's will look too small with a 6". Some guys don't mind it...again, just the look your goin for.

Good luck in your decision and welcome aboard!

I normally have that mentality, but i bought my 4th gen v6 to be my beater/work truck, and i dont find myself missing much honestly, it is a 3.6l v6 but with the 8spd trans on it, i have been surprised many times at the power it does, i havent tried towing with it but with a 33" tire on it, i doesnt seem to have had any negative effect on it except for a 1mpg loss, but even at that, it gets better gas mileage than my 2014 reg cab did and the only difference between the two trucks is the 14 was a hemi... my 3.7 cant hold a candle to my hemi trucks, but the 3.6 im not going to compare it to a hemi but i will say i have never said " i need more power" while trying to get that truck to go through traffic...

i will add that while i dont feel under powered in any way i do feel a bit sad to hear the hum of a v6 instead of the roar of a hemi when i put my foot down
