Well, as you can see in the photo I just sheared the top of my strut post off. Any suggestions?

Have a box wrench for the nut? And can you get a small wrench around the base of the post?

Dont have any box end wrenches. I was able to get a regular open end wrench on it and used a socket on the top. If I could get the broken piece out of the socket I think I could put back on whats left, but it seems to be so locked up I don't know that it would do any good. My neighbor has an impact wrench that I'm gonna try in the morning. Hopefully that will work. If not, could I just drill it out since I'm replacing it anyway?

Try impacting it for a good 45 seconds it should come free from the post

Get it off any way possible honestly, just cause you aren't gonna re use it. Big thing for the bils when you get it off just make sure the washer goes on before the top mount, just in case you didn't know that already

vice grips on the shaft, reach through the spring to get to it, make it tight. You know thats sounding wrong in my head. Anyways vice grip the shaft, and impact it off. Its going to work if you have a good grip and a good impact.

I would just drill the nut out, then once you feel like you have drilled through enough take a large punch or chisel and break it off the rest of the way. Kinda like a giant rivet. its all getting replaced. Might take a little while to do.

Well I drilled the top half of the nut out and hit with the impact, came off in one hit. Shouldve done that hours ago.

Now how do I get the lower spring seat off? This thing on the top of the shock is in the way. Is it supposed to come off?

This is why I love working on trucks. Every 2 hour job ends up a 48 hour job. :roflsquared:
