So it's time to get rid of the crappy Wrangler HP's and get something decent. Factory rubber as always is 275/60/20 or approximately 33's. Here's the thing, I'd like to get something a little larger, or at least a bit wider. I don't have a level and I'm really not considering a lift at the moment. The level might be an option, but probably not at least until the Spring. So Ram guru's and gurette's (that's a word, right lol?), what are my options? I've seen references to a 305/55/20 but I don't know if that's going to rub since I'm still on the factory 20's.

Attached is a picture for reference...:005:

It depends on the kind of tire you go with. Especially if you want to keep your stock wheels. If AT youll be fine, maybe a slight rub..but a MT tire youll rub the fender a tad and the black plastic trim piece on the fender. Just from experience I was going to run a Nitto Trail Grappler MT 305/55/20 w/o a level and it looked like it was going to rub before I installed them. As you can tell I went a whole different route lol..I say spend $80 on a level, and then put on some 33/12.50/20 Toyo Open Country MT

My bad, yes, I forgot to mention. 4WD. And for now, stock wheels are staying and since there is pretty much absolutely nowhere on Long Island to take advantage of M/T tires, I'm sticking with either highway tread or and A/T tire. Right now I've got my eye on the Cooper Zeon LTZ...but am open to suggestions too.

Go with the Coopers..anything else more aggressive without doing a level will rub with stock wheels..unless you used a spacer but imo I dont recommend using them!

I've been contemplating this myself...when you decide what tires to get you should do a write up/review...I know that is a page or two of comments early...but you should, lol.

What about the 285/55 20 bfg at ko. I just put them on my 2012 4x4 1500 CC and like them a lot. I never really got to try the stock good years in the snow much, but I do know from past experience that the bfg's are great in snow.

I plan on getting 285/65 BFG's after I get my HBS Leveling Kit.

Go with a 2.5 leveling kit and throw on a set of Nitto 295/60R20's "terras or Trails" I think you will be very happy

you may can get away with a 33 12.50 stock but why spend 1000 on tires and not spend 80-100 on a leveling kit?? it will make it look way better and your tires wont scrub thats what id do

I think a 12.5" tire would rub..a tad to wide for a stock wheel, not enough backspace and offset

It's not the cost of the leveling kit itself that's dissuading me, it's the cost to install said level. The factory tires are all but shot and need to be replaced anyway...If I knew a good place locally to do an install for me, I'd do the level in a heartbeat.

Installing the leveling kit can be done yourself very easily. Couple hours tops.

It cost me $85 for install and another $70 for alignment with my HBS Leveling kit... I couldn't find any exact prices from previous purchasers so maybe that will help you
