So my truck has about 6500 miles on it now, bought it new back in September. Almost since the truck has been new I have noticed a slight amount of grease on my front passenger wheel every time I wash the truck.

I am not really feeling any weird noises, or feeling anything. When I got new tires and the took the whole wheel off, the whole inside of the wheel had been splattered with grease. No big chunks, but seemed like spin off or something.

I have not dug around too much yet, but does anyone have any thoughts on what it could be or places I should check?

I had a front passenger side shock start leaking. It flung that greasy oil everywhere.

Had that happen on my 14 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. The new model Grand Cherokees were notorious for it.

It's a failure of the front shaft seals and or CV joint boots. What you see on the front of your wheel is nothing to what you'll have on the inner portion.

It'll be covered under warranty.

Took it in today and they said they didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I also got a tire rotation so their is a fresh wheel on that side. So I told them should I see more grease (which I am sureness I will). I will be coming back.

She tried to say maybe it was tire shine......... I told her I wash my own truck and don't use the gel or anything like that. I may pull the wheel myself when it gets nicer.

The band that holds the cv boot on may not be tight enough. I've had that issue before. Cv grease everywhere and no ripped boot.
