I was kinda surprised when i was pricing headers for 2011 today.I paid $450 for ceramic coated longtubes for my 06 hemi, now they cost $1500.Why did they prices triple?

Dat Cummins!
I think a lot of it has to do with America Racing Header having the market cornered on 4th gen long tube headers. I don't think anyone else is making them and if they are they are probably not as good as the ARH.

Or, we could just blame Obama! LOL!

High flow cats and Y-pipe are included. I'm sure that contributes to the amount. I'm tempted to order a RIPP supercharger when they're available for the 2012. They've been having deals for $3995 lately. If I'm gonna spend almost 2 grand on headers might as well go in another 2 grand and get some real power.

The difference is in the quality of metal used. Pacesetter headers are mild steel, and they only included the headers.

The ARH "SYSTEM" is all stainless, includes a y-pipe with high flow cats, o2 sensor extensions, new gaskets, bolts, and stainless clamps. Stainless headers are always 203 times the price of mild steel. Even the stainless JBA shorty headers are almost $700 for the ceramic coated.

The price is steep compared to the cheep mild steel headers, but the gains are well worth it in the end. UNBROKEN went from 307hp with JBA shorties and a stock tune to 373hp with ARH longtubes and a Hemifever tune. That is a 66hp gain by going from shorties to longtubes and adding a tuner. That is very substantial and is worth the cost IMO. It does mean saving up longer before making the purchase, but it is worth it in the end.

yeah but I'll bet that most of that gain came from the tune. His tune is worth 50+ hp isn't it? Maybe more than that with all of his mods. LT headers at $1500 a pop, no thanks. Not worth it IMO. Too much mullah for a few ponies.

Longtubes are usually good for 20-30 HP and same gain torque without a tune...

THIS^^^

and also if you're installing the kit on your own, spending the extra coin on these well built, perfect fit headers makes for a hassle free install.

you can spend less on some shorties, but the quality won't be the same nor will the performance

OBX longtubes designed for the first gen. SRT8 Jeep will fit a 2WD 4th gen Ram. They go for about $700 last time I checked, but you would have to the collectors to the muffler fabbed up.

Honestly, I'm happy with my JBA ceramic coated shorties. If I ever get rich I'll just drop another, larger motor in.

Whoops forgot to mention that Stainless Works also makes longtubes for the SRT8 Jeep. They're about the same price as the OBX. Just goota search and find a place that sells just the header without the cat. converters.

I'd buy the OBX headers for a SRT8 Jeep over ARH headers..

After countless emails and follow ups with BBK on the port issues. They emailed me right after Easter saying they were gonna give me a free set! Most likely the chrome shorties, but who cares its FREE!

Think its a direct bolt on. Some guys were trimming the flange a lil to fit if I recall.

Id look on some Jeep SRT8 forums for some guy that is getting headers.
