What's the purpose in deleting them?
For me it was to keep air flowing to my Vararam intake. Plus I have a *170 thermostat so it helps keep the engine cool. I also run a Hemifever 93 octane tune.

I need to try this as well. I removed them once completely but kept the motor connected. Of course, without any mods the CEL was showing. It does keep things cooler without those things in the way!! It stays hot here in Houston!

Jay Greene figured out a way to delete them. Email him. He took the whole shroud off, marked where the motor is when all the way in both positions, drilled a hole in the lil motor mounting tab & put a bolt in the hole to stop the lil arm that moves in the correct place then mounted the motor to the radiator support. I tried it but drilled the hole in the wrong place & got a cel due to the arm not moving far enough to its stopping point. I'm going to get another motor & try again. Jay had a video on how he did his. Its similar to the video SYN posted

You dont have to do all that. I completely removed my shutters and just had Sean turn the CEL off in the tuning. Done deal and no modification needed.

This is what I did with my motor.
I found a small plastic anchor and screw like you use in sheet rock and gorilla glued it into the back of the slot where Shawn gave instructions to do.

Let it dry for about 5 to 6 hours. Mounted it up high in the engine bay next to the battery so it will stay dry and clean.
I have never received a check engine light or any issues.

So, according to Chrysler, apparently my 2016 Rebel did not come with active grille shutters nor was it an option. Weird.
