Anyone running any homemade air box mods? Looking at ducting off the insert in the sport bumper and running up into the spot where the fender tube comes in and deleting the fender tube. Maybe some 4" aluminum duct 90* off the side of the box down into 2 4" round to square duct adapters Jbwelded to the back of the bumper insert. I was planing on putting mesh screen on the insert and cutting the center of the insert out. Looking at installing my tow hooks soon anyways

Try searching on here....I have read some threads with pics of someone doing this and posted a thread...maybe someone will chime in as it as about 6 months ago. It came out sweet looking and truly was a nice ram air setup.

Just read that whole thing... thank you. I like the idea about not drilling any holes. I'll post up my plans when I get around to it

Thanks. I think you just dropped my 40$ cai to a 20$ cai. I'll look into setting it up like that instead of my idea

That's AMAZING!!!! How much power did you gain?!?!? I bet it feels like rocket now, cruising down the highway.... What's the reason? Probably running the stock filter too. [emoji23] why not just go CAI.

I've tried vararam and s&b and I'm sure this would have to work better. When air gets ram in the air box it has nowhere else to go. I have a aem dryflow filter

Down the road I'm looking at still adding the s&B but finding a way to make the ram air scoop still work with it

Thad, do you still have the stock air box installed? I remember James told me about your set up last time I saw him. I have been thinking about doing what yall did & testing it against my s&b & building a track intake as well for track days

This is what I would like to do....Rework the snorkel into the tow hook cutout so that airflow would be more forced into CAI....the snorkel sits slightly behind the airdam under front bumber now.

Well I've got tow hooks. And I also have the sport bumper. I've modified the plastic insert with a mesh screen that I was going to mount the ram air inlet to. I'll post pics up when I get to doing that

Well didn't realize the AC lines are in the way for my idea. Guess I'll just save and buy the s&B intake and look into making a ram style intake for that when I get to it

This is my setup. Just under 35 bucks but I wanted clean and not noticeable. Only bling under my hood is the catch can and only cause I didn't want to wait for powder coat.
