Waiting for some feedback from others but am for sure looking forward to some trans tuning. While the 8 speed is a great trans it defiantly needs some work on the programing side of things.

Also wondering what the cost will be for trans tuning upgrade through Hemifever.

Jay has tuned a few trucks in the last 2 days. The videos he posted on facebook are looking great. He is charging $75 for a custom trans tune

He is tuning mine but while trying to load the update the I2 said that I needed to update it. Jay said that has happened on a few trucks so far & he has worked w/ Diablo to get it sorted out. Will try again tomorrow when Diablo reopens. Until then the truck is on the stock tune. I took the truck for a test drive after having Jay's tune in it for a long time.....all I can say is the stock tune is a joke compared to Jay's motor tune. Lol

I had the Trinity on this truck, but the beta trans tuning is only currently available on the i2.

I had to remove the trinity, update the i2, load a TCM file onto the i2, and then plug it in to start loading a tune file onto the truck.

First it reads the stock PCM file and then loads the PCM tune. Then it reads the stock TCM file, and then loads the TCM tune.

From there, I had to send both the PCM and TCM backup files to Hemifever, and I'm now waiting for him to send the revised custom PCM and TCM files back to me. (Diablo had some mistakes in the rev limiter tables, so we are working with Diablo to get those corrected before loading the custom file onto the truck.)

Once Sean sends the custom tune files, I will then need to save both the PCM and TCM files onto the tuner, and then load them onto the truck.

You had to update the It2 Because it was new, correct?

What does "load a TCM file into the IT2" mean? a file from diablo? what kind of file, I'm thinking it would be an update to the tool so it can read the TCM?

The you Married the IT2 to your truck and Tuned it? canned tune?

Or same CMR tune as before? Trinity and IT2 cannot use the same CMR files so I am assuming you needed a new CMR tune SOLELY for that reason?

At this point you sent the files to Sean, as we do for all CMR tuning. Is there any Tuning done to the TCM at this point?

What were you doing in the picture you posted? What is shown doesn't match what I understand the actual action to be.

If you already had a IT2 would you still need to put the truck back to stock etc., OR

could you have just updated the tool to read the TCM, taken a copy of the TCM file, sent that file to Sean, then flashed the TCM with the file he sent, or do both the PCM and TCM have to be flashed together...?

Thanks,

I am stuck on the dreaded "Vehicle not supported" screen as well.... :whymewhyme:

Yea I figured you were probably in the same boat. Lol I havent seen any post from ya yet. Lol I saw you posting in Jay's fb post. The only thing that sucks is not having the clutch fan and being on the stock tune when its going to be a heat index of 108* here today. Jay just sent me the update so I will try again after work

Mike from Diablo fixed it all up for Me. Now I just have to wait to get off work to get it all loaded on My truck, and send it off to the tuner. :whymewhyme:

Thanks,

This is still in Beta, so the TCM files are not on the regular i2 updates. You have to manually save the TCM file onto the tuner before you can do any transmission tuning. Once you have the TCM files on the tuner, the tuner will basically be preloaded with canned PCM and TCM tunes. You have to load both of those onto the truck first. Then send Sean the backup and last tune written for both the PCM and TCM files (4 files total). He will then write the new custom PCM and TCM tune files and send them back to you. You save both of those onto the tuner, and then load both of those onto the truck. When loading these on the truck, it goes through a 2 step process. It loads the PCM tuning first, and then the TCM tuning 2nd.

Thanks man!

I got that.

SO...

I have an IT2

I ( most of us do) have a CMR tune ( I have Hemifever's tune)

then I will or will not have to put the truck back to stock?

I have a 14 so I'm gonna wait till beta testing is done, however If I do need to put it back to stock then Ill do that and get the recalls done.

Challenge for me is that it takes sooooooo looong to tune the 14, plus the additional challenges Diablo is having with the 14s.

How do you set your WOT shift points, or actually how do you choose them? I think the are set by the CMR tuner?

Thanks again

Looking for updates to you beast!

I'm also guessing that as a new PCM CMR tune is required then there more to this than just enhance shift points. ......

Gary if it's a 108,you'll be running the A/C and your fan should be on.As soon as you turn the A/C on,the fan should be on,if it isn't you have other issues, lol.

I got mine loaded. All I can say is HELL YES!!! The truck pulls hard all the way until the shifts. My shifts are set around 6100 right now. Jay has been VERY helpful & has had A+ customer service through all this.

I'm very happy to say ths least. Was WELL worth the wait and 75 bucks. Lol

Any difference is part and full throttle shifts and also the speed of the down shifts?

Yes. Part throttle holds the gear a little longer. The speed of the shifts is about the same. Though stock the 8 speed already shifts pretty quick compared to other transmissions
