Hi, I'm new here and have a quick question about my 2011 ram 1500 4.7L RWD

The other day I was parking my truck after about a 60-70 drive and had just put it in reverse and started backing up when I heard a loud popping noise and noticed some fluid spilling under the passenger side. Looked clearish like it might be coolant.

I opened the hood and found something that I'm unfamiliar with and don't know if it's related. Please see the attached pictures. Looks like two of those pieces are completely broken but the third is fine. They're going to the engine. Anyone know what they are for?

Thanks.

You might get a better response if you moved this question to the General Information section or one of the engine/performance sections, as this is the detailer section.

I would not, the arcing could cause a coil to burn out. It does look like mice were chewing on those wires

Thanks! These two spark plug wires will be an easy fix. Hopefully the spark plugs aren't damaged.

I'm thinking the popping noise and fluid leak is apart of a different problem from the spark plugs though.

Yep, and this did not hurt the plug

Have you checked you're coolant and see if it was low.

Could be a heater core leaking and coming out of the overflow tube

Yes, I checked the coolant and it was kinda low so I added some fluid to it but after driving around a little the coolant level did not drop. I'm thinking it has to do with my AC since it was near the passenger area behind the front right tire. And I have been having AC cooling problems lately but I don't think that much condensation would drain at once (it was about a 16 oz glass amount).

As for the popping noise, I think I know what the problem is. About a month ago I had a 4" lift installed and about a week ago I had an alignment done by a nearby shop. I think the shop didn't correctly torque something during the alignment. After doing a google search some other people had the same problem after an alignment, and the popping noise happened to me again today after putting my truck in reverse, turning my wheels as far as they can go and driving a few feet. I don't understand why the fluid flowed after the first time it made the popping noise though. They may be unrelated problems.

As for the spark plug wires, I was able to get replacement wires today from a auto store and install them but now there's a clicking sound under the hood like a plug is arcing or something.

Because there's so many different things happening at the same time I'm taking it to a mechanic first thing in the morning! Luckily I have this time off from work with the holidays.

Wouldn't be ac... lift could very easily be your popping, are you sure it's spewing liquid, or was it water on the ground? Those plugs I'd would drive it to the store, just wouldn't go on a long trip with it like that.

No, it wasn't water on the ground. I watched the fluid leak. I'm not as worried about the fluid as I am the spark plugs. I can easily check my fluids each day but the plugs are more complicated.
