What should I go with first?

1. Carven bolt on muffler and Y
2. Moes throttle body
3. Vararam intake

My thoughts

1. Tuner system of choice
2. Exhaust with full length headers
3. CAI system of choice
4. catchcan
5. ported throttle body
6. v6 fan conversion (if applicable to a 2016)
7. underdrive dampener pulley
8. suspension mods of desired.
9. brakes upgraded to big brake or EBC stock replacements
10. forced induction if desired
11. interior cosmetics/stereo if desired
12. Torq converter if anyone ever comes out with one that works well with the 8 speed
13. one all that is done trade me R/T's :roflsquared:

I see a lot of tuners being suggested as first mod. Can my bone stock truck really improve from a tune, if so I may have that done first. Sounds like their is some potential with just a tune.

I wish you could just do a hand held on the newer truck instead of having to buy a new PCM. I would spend $400 on it but not $1000

1. DiabloSport w/ custom tune
2. ARH/Stainless Works headers w/ your choice of exhaust
3. Catch Can
4. Tq. Converter
5. V6 fan
6. PTB
7. CAI
8. UDP

Performance mods in which they should go IMO that are bolt-on. If you plan on drag racing, I would probably get some trailing arms after #4.

Want to half ass it and be like everyone else? Get a CAI first, bolt-on muffler, then a catch can. Enjoy spending $700+ to get next to nothing in performance gains at the track.

None that I have heard of yet.... heard rumor but no product seen yet

Baer Brakes makes one but its $$$$ SSBC makes a upgraded caliper and rotor kit which is also a good upgrade if you don't want to shell out the big bucks for the 15" rotors

Every one has their own opinions, But just have to remember the more air in, the more air out will up performance and efficiency. And the tuner is to take advantage of the fuel mapping or the air flow change..... a Tuner and any other mod is useless if you don't do the Exhaust and CAI as one of your first modifications

Skip it all and get a puffer and a tune........ Maybe a mangaflow y pipe as well. If I did it all again that's what I would do , and then do the rest. Spend the big money first!!!

There are 8 speed converters out there. Maybe not "specifically" for the RAM but they are out there. Soon enough they will be more readily available (easier to find I should say).

And while you are correct to a point R/T, the engine is not limited by the factory intake until some mods are done. You are more limited due to tuning and exhaust by far. Even then, a stock intake with high flow filter will keep up pretty well. Go pull your log manifold off and then come talk about air in air out. You are spinning your wheels adding air to many factory vehicles without putting on headers. Will you see gains? Sure.. Very minimal and hardly worth the cost.

This is why a say skip right to a puffer and a y pipe with a tune. I would have rather spent my money there and then pieced together the rest as I went. That's just me, after all the $$$$$$ I've spent I would probably have been faster having installed some form of FI. It's a lot harder to find an extra 5-7 k as life goes on (kids, mortgages, etc.).

Agreed but I would still highly suggest headers with any FI. I wouldnt go FI without headers personally. But I agree that FI is the way to go especially with the 8 speeds if you really want power.

Thanks guys. From all the responses I feel like go big or go home is the best route. Unfortunately at this point in my life I may have to go home lol. I would love to start off with longtube headers, carven exhaust and tune but that is upwards to 3500-4000 with the headers professionally installed. Sounds like the minor bolt ons are just not worth it besides maybe a catch can.

Im looking to upgrade mine. I got into a accident because I couldn't stop in time a week ago. My brakes felt crunchy instead of squishy. So I thought of maybe throwing some better brakes on there but for the cost. Hell No!
