I just ordered a 2016 Sport Quad 4x4. I'm was wondering if anyone has tried to make the hood functional and how did it happen? What did you do and how it was done. Or is it not worth it?

Not worth it. The scoops are too small to create and kind of functional ram air...especially for what you would have to pay for the Mopar intake and snorkle that's available.

If you search you should find a post about a mopar CAI that use one of the scoop to feed cold air.

I would just like the fake scoops replaced, it looks very cheap with them.

I would love to trade you hoods!! I have the regular hood on my 2014 express, I've been wanting the sport hood, love the look of it.

You could always make it functional as a light source. It doesn't have to only be a CAI...

How and where do you get them? I might be interested in that!

There is a company that makes them but they are very expensive in my opinion. A forum member did a right up on DIY sport hood LEDs.

I'll see if I can find it...

Here is what I found seems a little spendy like ya said. Thanks for the link

2009 2014 Dodge RAM Sport Hood LED Scoop Inserts | eBay
Yeah, they're cool but not $200 cool. Especially for just a look or at most turn signals.

Now if someone came out with some that you wired up to your high beams and they shined bright enough to illuminate the sides of the road, that might be worth $150 in my book.

The "brighter" LEDs put the MOD at about $300.00. My first set was only about $150.00 to make. The angle of the hood and the way they sit at an outwards position does not allow them to get close to the road. They shine about 3 feet above the hood on the wall. They are really only functional as a DRL.

So $215 per-made becomes more attractive to folks who like this MOD.
