If you do the v6 fan and 180 stat then I would get the ATI dampener pulley and install all at same time. Also a S&B CAI if you don't have. I have a 13 with all the bolt ons.

If you have 3.92 gears already, then I would go with a higher stall tq converter. If you have 3.55's, then I would throw a set of 4.10's in there, and try to squeeze the converter as well if possible.

Gear and converter will completely transform your truck and make it a blast to drive. You will be blown away at how much stronger it pulls across the entire rpm range with this combo.

hemi, I pull horse trailers a lot and don't think that would be a wise move no? the higher stall converter at least... 410s would demolish my mpgs when pulling at least in my 98 chevy the 4.10s were great for drag racing but awful for pulling. I couldn't pass a gas station to save my life.

I have 410s in my truck. I actually decent (12mpg) towing my 20ft enclosed trailer with dirt bikes and stuff. It's not bad around town either. I would definitely go 410, and even consider 456s.

These trucks respond very well to 4.10 gears. With stock size tires, you wuld be turning about 2100rpm at 70mph which isnt bad at all, and the extra gear will help you out with pulling the trailer as well. As for the converter, you wouldnt want to go too aggressive, but a 2600 stall will still pull that trailer with ease and give you a nice jump in power when unloaded.

ok. now to decide to do just those two things or get all that I listed plus maybe an intake, throttle body and..... I like to get the best bang for my buck lol plus, iv never done a gear change before myself and am a little leery on taking on that task.. iv built motorcycles from scratch, restored plenty of vehicles but when it came to gears I never fooled around with them....

Find your gears, I hate my 3.55's but my friends 3.92's rock, both with the 6 speed. If you mash it will you at least chirp? If not you probably have 3.55's.

Never mashed it with traction control off. I know with it on it hits harder than my tuned Volkswagen gti did on 20lbs of boost. I'll climb under and see if the tag is still readable on my different housing.

Honestly I want an lsd in the rear so I want to wait and gear it when I find a shop I trust to install one.

With that being said, gears are going to wait.

I had my Moes LSD installed at my local dealer. They even attached it to my vin and warranted it because it was mopar. One thing I forgot to do was get the magtec cover with drain. I am gong to install one next year when I drain the fluids. The LSD is nice.
