So when i start my truck it goes straight to 1 in the rpms. After awhile it drops when im not driving but not to 0 only halfway.even when i drive and i stop at red light, it doesnt go to 0.only half way. Is this a reason for concern or is it normal?its a 2015.also still cant get over how bad my mpgs are, if that's normal, then ill just accept it and move on.

if it were at 0 rpm the engine would be turned off. it'll always idle between 500-1200 rpm depending on temperature. also it's a truck you're never gonna get great fuel economy, especially in the city

Hemi power, you've had some dumb topics, but this one takes the number 1 spot. Really?? Yes at idle the truck is running so will not be at 0 rpm. Your truck does not have start/stop technology.

It's all good buddy, but Google can be your friend. Rpms stands for revolutions per minute. That's how fast the engine spins per minute. So at 600 rpms it spinning 600 turns per minute. Aka it's running.

wut... I cant tell if you're serious.

If the truck had 0 rpms it would be off. Just like any other vehicle

it idles at about 500-750 when warmed up and when it starts its around 1k to warm up......

Ok i slapped myself for this one.

I'm expecting the next thread to be "Engine makes noise while running. Does yours do that?" lol
