What tires are on the new 4X4's? The 1500 4X2 gets the SRA's and I see why so many sidewall punctures. Even inflated to 39psi you can look at them and see that any sideload on the tire will be running at least some on the sidewall. I think all the OE tires are just marginal for what they're intended for.

My truck has 17" Goodyear SRAs on it, under heavy load while towing they squirm around pretty bad.

Agree they put the bare minimum on them.

My 4x2 has the 20" SRA's and I don't know that I'd trust them under a heavy load very far. They look like they're ok for no load or light load but that's about it. I know that that's not what going back on when it comes time for new shoes. The SRA's were what was on the Dakota that I had, they seemed to be more suited for that size truck.

First camping trip with the new TT. 250 mile trip (one way), through the NH mountains and I got about 11mpg. Not bad for the 6 speed and 3.55 gears. Oil temp hit 233* at one point. Definitely glad I didn't have 20wt oil in my Hemi.

Corey: Pardon my bad memory I’m sure we already discussed this: But what was the Dry Weight of your TT? Did you get a loaded weight?

Yup: I would not have that warm fuzzy feeling towing that baby with 20Wt in the crankcase.

It's 3100lbs dry. I didn't get an actual loaded weight but I'm assuming about 4000lbs with the freshwater tank full and all our stuff in it.

I agree, 20wt is WAY too thin to tow with.

My Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s are amazing, and they wear like steel! Need to rotate them!

Did you take a mileage hit with those? They look sweet.

Had them on my 2005 Ram. Great all around tire. I may get them again when my Goodyears wear out

Not really actually, the “computer went from 18.3 to 17.9, so is it really that bad? Probably more traffic related vs tires related. I’m only running 295/70R17, stock was 265/70R17, a little bigger but not much, actually only 6lbs heavier than my stockers! LoL

I like the tread pattern a lot. they wear reasonably well. Size options suck IMO ( but im on 18's). That was one of the first ones i was ever interested in. Its a very "military" looking tread pattern.

If If you guys dont like your stock tires just sell them. I sold mine with 6,000 miles on them and the money payed for a decent amount of the new M/T's.

My old f150 had Hancook on as OE. Had over 80 thousand on them when I changed them out. They still had legal tread on them, I was just starting to get afraid if the casings after that many miles.
