As most of you know, I am having my truck painted. I didn't want to do it but I couldn't live with the with the solvent pop issue. It was spreading throughout the entire truck. I had 4 auto body shops tell me it was a factory problem. Then claimed, "That's Dodge for ya."
Now this is where I need help. I called the "Ram Specialists" numerous times regarding this issue. I was asking them for help. After they had me jumping through hoops for 3 months, I got a "No" and a "Sorry, we can't help you". Reasons: I am the second owner and it was out of factory warranty. After the truck was sanded and painted, they then told me that if I had waited and went to a certified Dodge body shop, they could have helped. When I heard this, I flipped out.
I decided to do a custom paint job. They don't care. And that was a third reason I got a "No".
I am only asking them to pay for what the cost would be for a factory paint job. Or at least half of it plus half the paint. Factory paint would run about $9,000 and paint itself would be about $2,000 or so with primer, color and clear coat. I would be happy if they gave me $5,000-$6,000.
Does anyone know of a number I can call or a certain someone I can talk to that can overturn their decision? I also told them that this is my 3rd Dodge, this website, and that my brother just bought a 2010 Chrysler 300.
I tried calling the 1-866-726-4636 for the Ram Specialists in Detroit. Any other information or help given is greatly appreciated.
Sorry for the lengthy post.
