As most of you know, I am having my truck painted. I didn't want to do it but I couldn't live with the with the solvent pop issue. It was spreading throughout the entire truck. I had 4 auto body shops tell me it was a factory problem. Then claimed, "That's Dodge for ya."

Now this is where I need help. I called the "Ram Specialists" numerous times regarding this issue. I was asking them for help. After they had me jumping through hoops for 3 months, I got a "No" and a "Sorry, we can't help you". Reasons: I am the second owner and it was out of factory warranty. After the truck was sanded and painted, they then told me that if I had waited and went to a certified Dodge body shop, they could have helped. When I heard this, I flipped out.

I decided to do a custom paint job. They don't care. And that was a third reason I got a "No".

I am only asking them to pay for what the cost would be for a factory paint job. Or at least half of it plus half the paint. Factory paint would run about $9,000 and paint itself would be about $2,000 or so with primer, color and clear coat. I would be happy if they gave me $5,000-$6,000.

Does anyone know of a number I can call or a certain someone I can talk to that can overturn their decision? I also told them that this is my 3rd Dodge, this website, and that my brother just bought a 2010 Chrysler 300.

I tried calling the 1-866-726-4636 for the Ram Specialists in Detroit. Any other information or help given is greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the lengthy post.

Mike

They'll do whatever they want. They got their money for the truck after it was sold originally. Its out of warranty so its not there problem. You custom painted it already. They wont do **** for you. Possibly if you didn't paint it yet but i think your screwed... Sorry to hear man

I'd be pissed but unfortunately I'm of no help but as previously stated since you're already getting/gotten a custom paint job you'll probably be SOL (although I do hope the best for you with whatever happens). A lot of times if it's not factory they won't do **** for anyone and that goes for ANYTHING, not just cars.

So.... Have you had it repainted already or are in wanting to get it repainted? Was it bubbling on the original paint or the custom paint? Trying to figure out your story here....

What exactly was this issue with your paint? Was it with that color or just happened on your truck?

My buddy has an 06 that I believe is the same color and tere isn't a single flaw in his paint that I've ever noticed
