what an *******, he's responsible, he put the trailer onto the back of the truck improperly. Who else do they think is responsible? WOW

If they think they aren't responsible, threaten with being sued, your friend shouldn't pay for it either. If you say your going to sue them for a new tailgate, and are serious about it, they should get their **** straight real quick...

We hook up trailers all dat long at my work and if we miss something its our ass to make it right along with our company. We have seen some bad stuff hapen with peoples own trailers they bring in to load our equipment on. The worst so far was a brand new 3500 with 30 day tags. He had a pintel hitch dump trailer loading a 8k excuvatator in and he didnt have the pintel fully locked, well it went up and through his tailgate.

Who ever hooked it up is responsable. Period. You may just have to take it to small claims.

The business where you picked the boat up should have insurance to cover mishaps like that. I'd go have a talk with the manager to file a claim. If they don't owe up, then sue them for repairs.

For a small claims matter to stick, you have to, by law, send a letter of intent. Stating that you are seeking compensation, or resolvement. You also have too state that if not done to your satisfaction, that you will have no recourse other than too seek other means of resolvement; ie; Small claims court at the end of thirty days. btw. Hope it helps Dg.

Wow, that's horrible! What a F'in DOUCHE-BAG! First thing, call back and ask for a manager or the owner. If that doesn't work then try small claims. If that doesn't work, or takes too long, an eye for an eye... or tailgate in this instance. Take a persuader "Hammer" and make his **** look like yours ; P

Yea teach could teach him a thing or two. Sorry to hear about your luck DG I hope it all works out for ya. That is also why if anything goes in the truck I'm the one loading it or hitching it. Cause if someone else messes up my truck.... Well lets just say the jack under the seat will jack their jaw and the tire iron will be used for more than just tires.

Definitely go the small claims route. You'll be surprised how easy it is to get fixed. At least post up the name and address of this business. That way people can boycott them and they can see how much business they can lose by not taking responsibility for their mistakes. I'd be posting **** all over the net and telling everyone I know. Word of mouth is a powerful thing.

i hate to bring this up but I took my tailgate off recently and brother that sucker is heavy. I might be able to drop it on someone. But swinging it around smacking someone is beyond anything I could manage.
