Widest rim you'll find in a 17" is 10" I think. You can't go smaller than 17s due to brake caliper clearance.

That just means you have one or the other .
There's dodge sites that you can get your build sheet , this will show you what your truck left the factory with.
Other than that , you could remove the diff cover and & count the teeth on the ring & pinion gears then divide the # of teeth from the ring gear by the # of teeth on the input pinion gear .

Example = 41 teeth on the ring ÷ 10 teeth on the pinion gear = 4.10 gear ratio .
Hope this helps !

I looked up my build sheet from my Vin and I have 3.92s

I have a sports car that I extract my necessary speed juices from, so I don't need any off the line power or pedal to the floor acceleration with my truck.

I just need to be able to haul my 6x14 utility trailer with some junk or brush in it. That's it.

You think I'd be okay running a -44 to -76 17" wheel 37x13.5/14.5 or 38x14.5/15.5? I'd imagine they'd equal out in weight with the factory dodge 20x12s and 35x12.5s I am running now?

The majority of the weight is going to be in the tire. A 38x15.5 10 ply tire is going to be a boat anchor lol. Definitely will weigh much more than your 35x12.5's, and will probably weigh at least triple what the factory wheel/tire setup was.

On that topic, my wheel tire setup is 20x9 fuel hostages with 35x12.5r20 10 ply trail grapplers. The 4 of them weigh just shy of 800lbs.

3.92 gears are great for 35s , alright for 37s , beyond that just know you'll loose noticable power with each up size ( weight of tire & Wheel combo) honestly you'll probably good with 38s & 17-18 " alluminum wheel.

If not it will motivate you to change your gears .

Maybe go with 37 x 13.5 and call it a day

With some performance modifications and a tuner you can get good power with the 3.92 gears

Oh yeah I couldn't believe it either. The freight ticket they came with said the shipment was about 780lbs, the skid was about 40lbs so I guess a more accurate estimate is about 740 lbs total.

I can tell you this, when I rotate them, the only way I can get them lifted up and onto the studs is to sit on the ground and put the wheel/tire between my knees and lift with my arms and my legs at the same time. They are really heavy.

Yea the shop I've been dealing with quotes me at 1700 for parts and labor for 4.88s

I might just save that for later and run 38x14.5 with 17s or 18s.

I just don't want to wear my auto transmission out ..

So I will be going with either a rough country or zone 5" suspension lift plus a 3" performance accessories body lift soon. And I will be leveled in the front.
I want to run 38x14.50 or 40x15.50

Can I clear these without rubbing at full turn or doing any cutting if I get wheels with a -44 offset?

If not which offset could I use to push them out far enough to clear them?

Truck is 03 qc 4x4

If ya don't have this app all ready, check it out, cuz they usually can answer all your fitment questions.
Might help ya.
Good luck!
