I had seen some trucks around locally with what looks like 3/4 amber lights in the very bottom of the bumper. Like every foot across the front. Anyone else see this?

Sounds like something that would get destroyed in the snow (if it ever snows again) where I live...

I had a GMC dually pull up behind me the other night and he must've had 30 amber lights up front.... bumper, grille, mirrors, roof, headlights, etc.

Looked a lot better than I thought it would....was tastefully done, even if overkill.

The lower air dam lights def seem big rig inspired.

Ive seen a rig like that. In the evening so you could see the truck clearly and all the light still stood out.

I love that look. I drive for a living so having it on my personal truck would be pretty cool I think.

There's a handful of trucks like that around me. I think it's pretty cool. Just as long as they don't have more than a semi

Hi,
I did this mod on my 13 Ram 1500. I only added two LEDs, but you could string together as many as you like. Amps are very low, so they don't add much burden to the circuit.

I was able to tap into the front parking lights wires to add an amber LED to each side. I mounted them in the tow hook filler plate (I don't have tow hooks).

I followed these steps...

Pull the pins that hold the radiator cover in place.
Remove the 4 screws that attach the top of the grill.
Pull the grill forward (4 snap connectors need to be pulled free)
Remove right headlight
-Two screws on the front and the slide clip in the wheel well
-Pull the light assembly forward (there is a ball and socket join that will snap free) Mine was not easy. I used a large screw driver padded with a shop rag to pry from the fender side while pulling the headlight by hand from the grill side.
-Same process for the passenger side.
Splice into the parking light wire (tested first to be sure I had the right wire)
-Driver side wire is white with brown stripe.
-Passenger side wire is white with orange stripe.
-On both driver and passenger sides, the parking/turn lamp connectors have 3 wires. The black one is the ground. The middle wire in the connector is the parking lamp, and the third wire is the turn signal. (just in case your wiring is different)
I grounded the LEDs by drilling a hole in the frame under each headlamp assembly and using a sheet metal screw to secure the ground wire to the frame.

For mounting the lamps... I was going to remove the tow hook blank panel, but there are so many clips to removed it just seemed like more of a pain than it was worth. So I positioned each light and mounted them to the plastic without removing it from the lower bumper.

All joints were soldered and sealed with either shrink tube or electrical tape.

Also, I used Peterson LED lights.

Hope this is helpful.
Doug

So i ended up getting 20 3/4" orange leds for $20. So we will how they look one of these days in the bottom of my front bumper. I was thinking of doing the left and right sides as signals. And then the center with my clearance lights. But a buddy of mine has a new 60' x 80' shop going up so i am going to wait till that's done. And then do it in there.
