I have a 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi that I am having a problem with the dome & map lights. They work when I open the doors and go out when I close the doors. If the headlight switch is in the dome light position, I can click them on & off with no problem. But, this is not how they used to work. I was able to turn them on & off before when the switch was in the normal parking light position.
I noticed when I replace the ignition switch because it had burned out causing problems with my heat / a/c that after reattaching the negative cable, my dome & maps worked like they did when it was new. After a day or so, I am now back to only when the door opens or I again put it in the dome position on the H.L. switch.
Is there a relay or controller that may be replaced or...???
