I'm mostly curious on how other Hemi owners drive their trucks and what kind of fuel mileage y'all are getting... I myself have a 2008 with a CAI and dynomax muffler and I average 16-16.5 MPG. however I heavily baby my gas pedal trying not to exceed 2000 rpm when not on the highway to achieve this.. What is your gas mileage like with the hemi? Any feedback is welcome.

2013 1500 stock crew cab work truck

Avg. @ 16.5-17
Highest 18.2 I drove the whole tank boss in the passenger seat as always
Lowest right now 13.9 only change 100 degree temps long idle with a/c
I usually pull @ 17-17.5 Like I said boss is always in the pass. seat then he gets it on the weekend and I get it back at 15.
Hand calculations only differ by .4 at most.

All driving about the same 50/50 city/hwy

That's what I get with mine. My wife can get almost 20, I can't Best I can do is around 17.5-18, but I have a heavy foot also.
This is with a CAI and a cherry bomb vortex.

Yea. Mines 4x4 as well. And it doesn't have the gen 2 Hemi so no multiple displacement system to shut down half the cylinders in stable driving conditions...

I'm pretty easy on the throttle majority of the time, but you have to let the horses out once in awhile to play. Best I have ever got with my truck is 14.2, average since I bought it is 12.6. Now mind you, I do have the 3.92 gears and the area I live in, you can't go anywhere without going up a hill, I literally go to work and back driving up hill both ways.

2004- rcsb 91k miles factory 20s an good years

260 cam, superchips, 4.56s, cai, efan

Bought the truck used but was completely stock besides a flow master muffler. I rarely drive highway, I like to go into 3k-4k rpms pretty often an a few wot now an then. Best I ever got owning the truck was about 19mpg. I avg about 12. If I drive hard 11mpg an if I drive good about 13mpg, all city driving with short trips

WOW, the newer trucks seem to get better MPG. My '13 with the Hemi and only a "Green" filter in the stock box and a 24" Mufflex is averaging 15.5 on the first half tank (16 gallons) of gas and that's a pretty even mix 50/50 of highway and town.

Oh, I have roughly 250 miles on my truck too.

According to my EVIC, I'm getting 17.0 MPG with about 50/50 highway/city. The only mod I have is the S&B CAI. I'm certainly happy with that considering it's a heavy truck with almost 400HP.

I think it might be in part due to some of the MPG being reported here appears to be from the overhead readout and others (lower and accurate) are hand calculated. I do think the newer trucks driven under the same conditions will get a little better fuel economy, but not 5+mpg.

If we are going by the readout then I got 24.5mpg on a recent 230 mile highway trip, the best readout "mpg" so far but it averages 20-21mpg usually.
Hand calculated is actually about 15mpg.

Strangely enough if I do almost all, or all city driving my overhead is almost dead on. It usually reads about 14mpg and hand calculated its about 14mpg..
And yes I get 14mpg city/highway...not sure how but I hand calculate every tank of fuel.

BTW thats all in my current truck. My old Hemi got about 10.9 city and 13.5 highway.

My number is from my app on my phone. It's usually pretty close to what my G8 reads. I track my miles on both the truck and the G8 which actually helps me get better MPG.

Depending on the age of the truck and how the in truck calculator was maintained they can be very accurate. Both my trucks were spot on with hand calculation cause they were reset every fill up

Using both Fuelly.com and Gas Cubby on my iphone, the calculated numbers are as follows:

Combined: 16 MPG
Best highway: 21 MPG

A little low for the combined compared to the EPA estimate of 17, but bang on to the EPA highway estimate of 21.

The EVIC combined is showing a slightly lower value of 15.6 MPG

Ironically, so far, we are getting better combined fuel economy than we were with our 2008 GMC Acadia. That said, we are more conscientious about fuel use with the truck. However, we have matched the best highway fuel economy numbers against the Acadia. Pretty impressive as far as I'm concerned.
