I've blown the 5.7 in my 2007 1500 truck. I picked up a 2003 parts truck and want to swap out motors. What do I need to change to make this work?

I would be looking at engine mounts, the ecm, connecting to the transmission, and the overall swap of two different years of the same engine.

There's huge differences between those two engines making the swap a huge pain. The electronics between the two are completely different and there's systems that the 07 had that the 03 doesn't, such as MDS which would have to be dealt with.

If you want to keep MDS then you'll need to change the lifters and add MDS solenoids to the '03 block. If you don't mind losing MDS then you can just buy a tuner, turn off the MDS and use the '03 engine as is. Take the EGR, throttle body, valve covers and coil packs off your engine and put them on the '03. I think that's all there is to it, welcome to RF.

This^^ Plus you'll need to open up the EGR port on the 03 engine. Make sure you load the tune shutting of MDS (if you go that route) before you start it. If you don't, the PCM won't get the signal from the MDS system and throw a CEL (plus you 'll have a harness just kinda laying around if you don't remove it). If you decide to keep MDS, you'll need the lifters, solenoids AND cam (cam is different) plus head gaskets and bolts, as you need to pull the heads to change lifters.
