Upgrading Stock LED Tail Light and Brake Light???

Hi there. Has anyone found a set of smoked tail lights and third brake light that will work on the 2013 Sport model? I havnt found any available online...they all say "for non LED models". My service guy said its because the resistor for the lower current is in the computer. All of these aftermarket lights have the resistor in the light bucket itself, so they dont jive. Any help would be appreciated. I want to avoid spray smoking my lights...aint nobody got time for that!

these are for 2013 w/o l.e.d tailghts.....so if your current tails aren't led these should work.

Unfortunately no...these lights are for non-led trucks. My Sport has factory LED lights so these will not work. But thank you very much for the assist.

I have already researched this. Doesn't seem to be anything for existing led tail lights right this min. I called recon lights they are working on a set for led sport and black edition tail lights.

They do however have a smoked 3rd light Recon 264112BK LED 3rd Brake

Thanks for the info. When did you call Recon? I emailed them a couple days ago and they said they have a set that will work...part #264236. Only thing is they are crazy expensive! $450 retail...although I found a seller on ebay for $375, but still super expensive. I just hope he's telling the truth about them working and not just trying to make a sale. Ive read other forums thst say they dont work correctly....something about the connector. Id hate to spendvthat kind of money and get burned.

Why don't you smoke your stock ones.

If not, $375 is not bad. You could get just about that for your stock ones. There very popular.

just get some of this and do it yourself

VHT Nite-Shades™

then some clearcoat.

you want it darker do more coats

most shops either use this or they just thin out black paint with clear. and spray it

I did this mod on the weekend.

2 coats of VHT Niteshade and 3 coats of clear.

Less than $30 Canadian.

It was easier than I thought.
