Crutchfield keeps telling me 6x9 wont fit in my doors...
Would that be the depth that's throwing it off?

The front doors are only going to fit a few shallow 6X9s.
I used 6.5" with some adapter plates.
I found out the hard way that 6X9s that will fit in a Regular cab will not fit in a Crew or Quad cab front door.
Which reminds me I need to sell these extra 6X9s.

Yeah, that's why im asking, just to make sure.
I only want to buy speakers once.

Ill prob go with 6 1/2'' up front, like you.
Then, 6x9'' for the back two doors.
And, an 8'' sub under the back seat.

With spacers it should be a piece of cake. But I haven't made it to my doors yet. What are you selling?

The Kicker and Polks fit, it's about a 3" depth. I'm needing a 3.5" depth for what I want to run. Just planned on a 3.5" MDF spacer.

Kicker KS693s that I bought from DavidRam
I'll post them in the for sale section soon. I don't want to derail this thread.

Here is the pictures from when I installed my system in my 14 quad cab. This is the front door speaker mounting

This is the depth I was able to fit a speaker in

The 6x9 fits with no problem in the back door, I had to use a 6.5" in the front door with an adapter plate. 3.5" in the dash. I did not go with the factory upgrade speakers I went with the kicker speakers and adapter harness to work. The sound quality is great with the upgraded 8.4 factory head unit!

I don't think RFs are that much more.... I used the Prime series 6.5" component sets originally and used 6x9 Bracket adapters Crutchfield sent me. I have since switched all out for JL Audio gear. I still have the RFs and Kicker dash speakers if your are interested in them. You can see what they look like here.
