Hello all,
I'm new here. I've recently came across a 1994 ram van that had its 5.2 replaced a while back with a rebuilt 2001 5.2. It looks like it's needing a new ECU. Am I right in assuming it needs a 2001 ecu. If so what other things do I need to remember as needing to be 2001? Thermostat? Any help would be appreciated. Also, in this situation will I probably need to have the ecu flashed or programmed at the dealer? do other shops do it cheaper now? or is there even a way to bypass that step altogether now? Thanks for any help.

10-4. No change will be necessary to run it off the 94 computer. You might have to double check the temp sensor connections to make sure they're right as some of the early engines had two temp senders.
