im looking at adding small performance changes to my 5.2 to help with mileage and a little more power since it is really sluggish. ive been looking at a screaming demon coil direct replacement and i already changed the distributor cap, rotor, and wires to summit racing brand with 8mm wires. would the new coil be worth it? and would i have to do anything to accommodate the extra spark created? idk if i will get screaming demon tho. maybe a less powerful coil. what about e3 spark plugs? i dont want to spend to much money and rip the engine apart and change out heads and or cams as this is a daily driver. i will probably be changing the plenum gasket and probably the pan to an aluminum hughes pan.

Keep the stock coil. An aftermarket coil won't do you a lick of good.

Don't go anywhere near E3 plugs either, they will make your truck misfire like no other.

As for your plenum, go on ebay and look for an aluminum pan sold by Trisa34 or bwdakrt. Same person, it is a very well cut plate and he includes plenum bolts as well.

ok. is there anything i can do to make the truck react better and have more power? i had a K&N that split so i had to ditch that for my stock intake box. it has an aftermarket tb on it.

Plenum -> ignition tune up -> new O2 sensor -> high flow cat/y-pipe -> tuner

That is a good start to everything. However, you should do a compression and leak down test before you start tossing money at it. If your compression is too low you might want to look at building a junkyard 360 to swap in it when you get the cash.

anything above 100psi is ok but essentially you would like to see most of the cylinders having 150psi or more.
