I am trying to find the Yazaki plug housing part number 7283-1248 that plugs into my seats in my 14 Ram. It's a male plug with female pins. 00/RT found the correct part number for me but I can't seem to find a place I can buy it without having to purchase it in lots if 30 or more pieces. I found it at Nexus Electronics and ordered it but they have it listed incorrectly so I actually got the mate to the plug and they don't have the actual plug. I am attaching a picture of the plug. If anyone knows where I can buy 3 or 4 I would appreciate it. I am not sure if another company makes it under a different part number....Thanks for any help.

That would be great! I need two but I would gladly take one to get started and keep searching for more. Let me know if you have it and how much you would want for it....Thanks

Yes I had found that site. There is no place I could find to order the part only inquirer about it. I sent a message but am not very hopeful I will be able to buy from them. I am thinking there's probably another company that makes the same plug that might be able to find under a different part number but I've searched everywhere with no luck.

I might have one out in the shop I can send you. I'll check in the morning. Do you need the harness with it? Because I think the ones I have are connected to a harness

I have the seat harness but not the harness that plugs into the seat harness and I could definitely use that if you have it. If your able to find them let me know what you have and maybe send me a picture. Thanks!

Are you trying to get your seats all wired up? If I get a chance late Sunday night I will do some digging around also.

You will likely need to send out a bunch of boiler plate (identical) emails to vendors until you get a reply back. That's what I had to do with the yazaki oem camera stuff.

If you do finish your harness, keep notes on PNs and finished length and I will sketch it or and post it up for others.

Yes unfortunately my truck has none of the wiring needed for the heated seats or inverter like 00/RT'S truck did. He has given me a pretty good run down of the wiring so am going to try to get the inverter done first and then the heated seats now that it's possible for me to add the codes. Any help would be appreciated. I have hit a dead end so far. Dantheman has been looking as well with no luck. I will do a write up if I get a harness fabricated. Thanks.

Those are good pictures Rick. Do you have those 2 parts in hand or are they someone else pictures?

Anyway here is some info I dug up/put together so far (Feel free to quote/add to your OP):

All Yazaki Catalog PDF's can be downloaded from this link:
YAZAKI Connectors Catalog

There is a difference between the YESC Hybrid Connector line and the 'Standard' Hybrid Connectors. The heated seat connector PN's you are looking for are from the 'Standard' Hybrid Connector Catalog:

Yazaki Std Hybrid Housings:
- PN: 7282-1248
24 Pole Male (Housing & pins); (20) 2.3mm & (4) 4.8mm terminals

Nexus Electronics: 7282-1248 (Male Housing/pins) _ qty: 200 pcs/stock, $1.38 ea

- PN: 7283-1248
24 Pole Female (Housing & pins); (20) 2.3mm & (4) 4.8mm terminals

Nexus Electronics: 7283-1248 (Female Housing/Pins) qty: 296 pcs/stock, $1.08 ea
or 7283-1248-50 (ORANGE Female Housing/Pins) qty: 200 pcs/stock, $1.39 ea

EDIT 2 (from next post):
If I am reading this CAD drawing correctly it may be possible to locate the same part in a different color based on the "dash number at the end", i.e. ...
-10: Dark Gray
-30: Black
-40: Lt Gray
-50: Orange
-60: Green
-80: Brown
-90: Blue

Now if 00R/T or yourself can link or post a schematic of the heated/cooled seats, everything will be in one thread to reference later. Bonus!
(Still have to find a supplier)

PS: I think part of the problem is that yazaki didn't follow standard terminology with the connector you are looking for, i.e.
they are calling the housing that accepts the female terminals/sockets a "Female" connector in their catalog (I've seen this randomly with various manufacturers and its annoying). Correct me if I am wrong, you are looking for ...

- PN: 7283-1248
24 Pole Female (Housing & pins); (20) 2.3mm & (4) 4.8mm terminals

The pictures I sent where from the front and the back of the plug housing that I was sent in error from Nexus electronics. It is the correct plug but I need the mate to it. I am working on the power inverter first and would like to have the plug so I can do a clean install. It's a long story but I actually removed my airbag/ocupancy sensor wiring from my old seats because that was all the wiring my truck came with and installed them in my new seats so my truck is still plugged into the seat harnesses it came with. I now have the original plug that each of the new seats came with that I run the power and ground to operate the power functions plus trucks original plugs. I would like to get two plug housings so when I hook up the inverter and hopefully the heated seats it will be a clean install and basically have two plugs per seat. I installed the seats a long time ago when the truck was near new and didn't want to tamper with the factory harness so I kind of made them seperate. If I can't find the mate to the plug I will pull the seats out and install there original airbag/ocupancy sensor wiring and go from there. I am pretty sure I am going to have to remove the seats to trace the inverter wires anyway. I haven't gone far no enough into the heated seats yet to be able to provide a schematic. I am trying to get one done at a time. By talking to 00/RT I believe it can be done but haven't got there yet. Thanks a lot for all of the information. It is very informative. I agree there discription is backwards and very confusing. I have sent out a few emails with no response and don't want to buy 30 or more so it may be a mute point. I am back at work so I don't have a lot of free time to remove the seats until Thanksgiving week when I am off. I am hoping to get a lot figured out then.

FYI, SMD shows stock but not sure what the price would be or if they will do small quantities.
SMD Product Search
Last time I tried to get info from them it took forever and they were not terribly helpful, but they did eventually give me a quote with certain 'minimums'.

Thanks Mike I haven't tried them yet. I will shoot them an email and see what happens. Honestly as time goes on I think it may be better to just change them over and use one plug if I can't find a housing in a few days so I can at least get started on figuring this out.

Yes they all go through one plug for the factory setup and I think that's what I am going to do. I don't want to turn this into an inverter thread but I pulled my Center bezel out and the plug is actually there for the AC outlet plug. I had heard that it was in the past but had forgot about it. The plug is actually just shoved into a little holder kind of the same way it is on the 2 wheel drive trucks where the four wheel drive plug would go. Without tearing the truck apart too much I'm pretty sure that the wiring goes underneath the center jump seat I'm also pretty sure it's connected to the BCM from tracing I was able to do it was getting dark. I guess long story short even though we don't have the correct seat harness for the inverter I think some of partial wiring is there but I won't know until I take the truck apart. I installed the AC outlet in my dash and plugged it in that way I know I will figure it out because things not working drives me nuts LOL.

Q: Are you sure you ordered the correct PN's?
Nex Electronics shows stock of both PN's with different qty's:

- 7282-1248 (Male Housing/pins) _ qty: 200 pcs/stock, $1.38 ea
^^^^^
What you received.

- 7283-1248 (Female Housing/Pins) qty: 296 pcs/stock, $1.08 ea
or 7283-1248-50 (ORANGE Female Housing/Pins) qty: 200 pcs/stock, $1.39 ea

Dang it Rick. It's a shame you are out in CA land. I would love to help you get this stuff working. Nothing I like more than tinkering around when someone else is spending the money! (time permitting)

EDIT: added info to earlier post.

When I got the incorrect plug from Nexus I try ed to order the mate and they told me it was unavailable. I will check again and make sure. Thanks. I am actually starting to lean towards just using the one plug. The main reason I did not want to is when I recovered my seats with the new leather they fit perfectly I really don't want to tamper with taking the seat covers back off again to change the wiring around. I am going to go on their website if shows are available I'm just going to order them they're not expensive maybe they will be the correct housing even though they told me they did not have it.
