Prior customer of mine reached out to me a few weeks back and wanted the BEST lights when it comes to his Challenger. We did his Tahoe a few months back with our standard Morimoto Mini projectors - and he loves 'em.......but wanted something that would just own the road. :D

So, we talked about a few options.....and ended up with the one of the best projectors out there that money can buy. Don't get me wrong, the Morimotos I use are friggin' amazing at their pricepoint and flexibility - but, both of those were thrown out the window on this build. :893karatesmiley-thu

The customer opted to use the projectors out of a Lexus LS460. These are a low beam projector, which was modified by the guys at The Retrofit Source to bixenon. They installed a solenoid in them, and away we go!

Here's a picture of the LS460s next to a Mini that I normally use. Now, keep in mind.........the mini is shroudless there. Lens size, 3" vs 2.5" (just to give you an idea).

And here's what we started with for light output on these Chally's

So......the fun part? LOL - yeah, these bad boys are pricey! To put it into perspective.......parts alone - 5 sets of Minis = 1 set of these Lexus projectors. :Whoa:

In the end, it was a fun project, and before you ask...........no, there is no way in hell these will fit in a 4th gen quad headlight. LOL I don't even think they'd fit in a dual, not without really hacking some stuff up! I had to trim a bit of the metal on them to fit in the nice big bowl on the Chally.

What makes these different from a set of the Mini's you usually use? Just a better distribution of light, or better at focusing the light where it needs to be, etc.

Just curious, I've never done too much research into the specifications of different projectors

Yeah, pretty much. Bottom line, they were designed to have a VERY wide beam of light, just a superb beam.

That's one thing about my wife's Lexus that I like, the light output at night is spectacular. Probably the best of any car I have owned. Great work as always sir.
