According to the driver, he pulled off farther than usual because of a log that was sitting on the shoulder. When he went to pull away, the rear tires walked themselves down into stuckville.
I have had that happen I stopped to switch my windshield wiper blade because the driver side one broke and once I started moving again (f-350 CCLB 2wd) it walked me down into the ditch... Bad day. Now I have a 4wd and a 1/2 ton my days of being stuck on flat ground are over.

It's not towing, but pretty sure I was pushing the payload limits... This is with the airlift 1000s at about 12psi before loading.
