So I emailed BF Goodrich, and receive this response:

"Spencer,

The inflation in your LT275/60R20 KO2's should be 50 PSI for both front and rear. This is the correct inflation for unloaded everyday use and moving from P-Metric to a LT tire.

The inflation pressure could change if you ever do haul a load but it would have to calculated by the weight of each load. The air pressure can be dropped during winter conditions (we don't have a recommended number to drop) and it is not recommended to ever go below what the door placard says (should be 35 PSI for your Ram).

We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing BFGoodrich."

Tpms

Ok so I've decided to get rid of my stock tires I've popped two tires deer hunting the last two years so I'm over it! I decided to go with K02's but the whole tire pressure TPMS thing? The dealer told me the TPMS light will always be on which is fine for some but it's going to annoy me is there anyway around that or did I get some bad info??

I was under the impression the tpms light only comes on when the pressure is too low but I'm not positive

I picked up a set of these earlier today, and very happy so far. They are a bit louder than the stock tires, and also I can feel them a little more. While these differences exist, they are minimal. IMO, they are worth the trade off. By the way, the tires look killer for an all terrain. Originally I was going to get a set of Cooper ATP's and they are very mellow in comparison. Glad I went this route instead.

Just shop around for prices. NTB quoted me around $250 a tire for the BFG KO2 and my Toyo AT2's I went with were around the same price, so for me it really came down to what I liked better, which is the Toyo.

Love that RIM it looks awesome!

I have always ran mine at 37psi

I got them in 275/65R20 seen below
http://www.ramforum.com/f41/new_tire_day-72712/

Thanks Smiley. Funny you mention the rims. I almost opted to go with a blackout look in XD's. Glad I didn't. Although it's not the trend, I like the shiny and think it has the right balance now.

Btw....took a peek at your post and your ride looks sweet as well. :)

FYI, mine are inflated at 50psi. This is where Discount Tire put them, not me. How did you come to the conclusion of 37psi as being the magic number?

FYI, my local DT had them @ $261/each. I took both my Ram and the wife's Charger in at the same time and had just finished buying her set and putting road hazard on them (curbs, etc -- lol). Anyhow, I declined the road hazard on the BFG's and the sales manager voluntarily dropped the BFG's to $241/ea so I'd have road hazard on these as well.

There are definitely less expensive options available, but for the looks, wear, durability, increased tow capacity, etc. I think they are still a good value. Of course, it's easy when I have a wife that is like, "are you sure we don't need mud tires, I don't want the truck looking wimpy", LOL. For the record, she is happy too. She's already looking forward to "stealing" my truck for the afternoon.

As to which is better? I don't know. Had a set of Toyo AT's from back in the day and they wore very fast. Other than that they were a solid tire. That stuck with me so as much as I like Toyo it's hard for me to give them a second chance.

These are LT275/60/20. Riding at stock height on my Sport 4x4. I need to pick up some Bilsteins and get the front leveled out, but overall very happy. I might add the LT's give some more tow capacity in case anyone is curious is about that.

Yeah I've been up in the air on the stock 275/60R20 or going a little bigger at 275/65R20 but I like the look on your truck I have a 2012 Ram4X4 I get tires tomorrow ordered the bigger tire but I'll probably opt out to the stock size after seeing your pics thanks

Glad it helped you. :)

FWIW, I wouldn't have had a problem going to the bigger LT275/65/20. Width is the same, but height is 1" taller at 34" instead of 33". So in reality, that would raise the truck about 1/2" taller over current ride height.

I actually asked about that tire size and my local store didn't have those in stock so it made the choice easy. Also, I noticed they were another $50 or so per tire for the larger size. For me, the minimal difference wasn't worth the cost knowing the most I'll do is level the front end -- at least for awhile.

If you tow big loads, it might be worth the wait & extra cost. The 275/60/20's have a 3,000lbs/tire max load. The larger 275/65/20's have a 3,750lbs/tire max load. In comparison, the stock Goodyears are only rated at 2,601lbs/tire max load.

Ya I'm not towing too much but I definitely was getting tired of popping a tire on my hunting trips at least one a year! The only thing I haul is an ATV on my Diamondback Truck cover so nothing too heavy thanks again

I think 50 would ride really rough. I don't even need load range E like mine have really just put them up to 37 for winter since they fluctuate more and it has been the recipe ever since. I put so many miles on the last pair I would think I have it right or at least an option that you would not have to worry they are under inflated.

I spoke with BFGoodrich and they said if you want the tire to perform at the same load range as the stock tire they recommend a minimum if 55psi but I know some people running 50psi I think I'll start with 50psi that's what tire rack recommended also

The stock tires are garbage. Absolutely terrible garbage so I don't want mine to perform anything like that. I drove over 77,000 miles never had a flat or blow out and wore even except for bad alignment issue which stopped weird wear. I'll think I'll take my chances with less than 40 psi better traction and ride.

Here is an example of why you don't need that much air. If my tires perform as a low load range C I am still able to handle plenty of weight for my needs maybe just not max. When I tow heavy I add more air anyway. Of course this won't always be exact but gives some insight of the why behind not needing a ton of extra pressure when you get LT tires. The truck can't even handle enough weight to need 50plus psi. (Legally) if this chart is even close to applicable to larger tires such as 275/60R20 and 275/65R20.

I might test out higher psi and see how it changes the ride though. Maybe I could get even more miles out of the new set.

Well I'm not sure about your dealer recommendation but the standard p rating at 35psi is 2601 for my pick up and for the D load range LT tire to perform at that level BFGoodrich recommends 55psi that's coming from the tire manufacturer I understand you can run them lower but you generally run into problems with tire wear patterns and tire life. Obviously you have had other experiences but that's what I've been told by Dodge and BFGoodrich. I'm getting my tires tomorrow and I'll definitely play with the pressure a little to find the happy medium.

They had 2/32nds left and could have went longer but since I had an alignment issue the outside edge was wore off on all four since I had rotated them. They were the KO though not the KO2 so we will see how these do!

FWIW, after looking at load inflation tables, I run 39 to 41 psi in my ko2's, wearing nice and even so far (about 7.5k miles).

I'm on LT275/60R20D running them at 42 now, 50 was way to stiff for our road. Couldn't have an open drink in the cup holder without spilling it all over the truck lol
