I purchased my 2010 Big Horn with 58,000 on the clock. Within a few thousand miles of purchase I started to get a CEL and codes for multi cylinder misfire. Dealer covered it and said plugs appear to be factory original. Tech said he was surprised it didn't throw codes sooner since they were at twice their recommended change interval.

All changed at no cost to me, dealer was upset that it hadn't been done before the sale.

I'll stick to the 30k change interval, $80 is cheap insurance for a long smooth running engine in my book.

Anyone know if this carries over to the 6.4L too? I just realized I'd forgotten to change them out at the interval on the 1500. Oh well, not my problem now.

just rolled 70,000 this weekend. I bought the truck with 58,000 but it was only 1 year old. I find it highly unlikely that the dealer changed the plugs but I have not noticed any issues. Pulling the plug wires probably wont tell me anything so is there away to check without pulling the plug? I don't have the tools to do that.

The salesman said that it was certified used and went through their 100 point inspection but are the plugs something they would check and replace?

Nope, those inspections sound great, but they're checking mostly for liability issues that would be a problem to them, not you. Best to check those yourself.

Yeah that's what I figured. I'll add it to the list now that winter has broke and I can get a few things done outside.

I would change them. I changed mine at 60K and they looked fine, but if there supposed to only last 30K. So who really knows.lol

After seeing this post, I checked the manual for my 2015 Sport. It recommends changing plugs at 100K miles.

That's because the 2013+ starting coming with iridium plugs.

Are you 100% sure it was 2013+ when they started using the iridium plugs? I'm the proud owner of a 2013 and have been waiting for someone to clarify if that change was, indeed, in 2013 OR 2014.... I haven't gone so far as to pull a plug yet....

I have a 2014 and while getting a couple recalls done today the service manager recommended I get new plugs. I told him I was considering but that I had not noticed any problems. He said that if I hadn't noticed any problems or lack of power then not to worry about it.

I found the listing on ebay but it says the part is NOT compatible with my truck.

A little help. What spark plugs do I need for a 2014 hemi?
