One time I towed my ram 2500 4x4 with the v10 quad cab and long bed on a double axle tractor hauler with my 5.9 1500... No trailer brakes. Very dangerous and illegal but I kept it on back roads.

woops it was a 2nd gen lol

looking to tow a 2500 lb trailer with a 3400 lb car on it? no air bags stock shocks. 2010 ram 1500 hemi 3:92 rear any suggestions? lol. oh and 18 inch tires

Load it up and go. You don't need anything to pull that just be careful extend your brakeing distance it would be prefered to have brake controller. And sense you posted in this section we need a pic after it loaded up.

I recently added a 31 foot 2016 Wildwood camper to my tow list. 6500lbs dry with a 960lb tongue weight. Probably add 1800lbs of people and supplies on top of that fully loaded.

Yes you will need to take it to the dealer for them to enable it. Then it will show up on the EVIC and on the radio(if you have the 8.4 uConnect).

Yes and it shows up in the 5.0 Also and I'm beting the 3.0 under settings it allows you to store up to 4 or 5 different trailers and and 4 options for breaks heavy electric (over 10k or tri axle) light electric up to 10k, light electric over hydrualic and heavy over hydrualic.

Sooooo I've got a 14,000# trailer load I need to move out about 45 miles. Halfton pickup with 5000# airbags to keep me level. Any thoughts?? It's a one time thing but I don't want to mess my truck up.

Hmm, I wouldn't want to do it, I would find a friend or rent a proper truck.

Yea I ended up not doing do it. It was a one time thing needing to move a skid steer but had my mechanic do it since we live in the same general direction. He's got a 3/4ton.

If its a must, i would go slow, and make sure there are no hills, I push my truck, payload is like 6250, but i flirt short trips to maybe 7000 tops. Ram max out on 1500 is like 10500, so your going WAAAAY above that. All i can say is good luck, dont push it, if you feel something wrong, stop and readjust.

Not really heavy, maybe 3,300 to 3,500 lbs but aside from a 6x14 dual axle utility trailer loaded with 3 yards of wet mulch this is the heaviest load I've had a chance to pull.........

It's sitting on a WeighSafe 10" drop hitch, right at 300 lbs on the tongue. Truck sat dead level with the load, the Superlift springs handled the little load quite well. Again, nothing too heavy but being lifted and running skinny 35's, I was pretty happy.

aquired this travel trailer this Spring. thought our weights were just under limits and it towed quite well for the size.

I made the mistake of getting on the scales. With the family I was 200 over RAWR and 400 or more over payload.

The e2 WDH did quite well. I was impressed with the weight put back on the front axle.

I ended up trading this truck in on a new 2500 in June.

Thanks.

The trailer was listed at 7500 dry. After adding the battery, filling propane, etc., it was 7880.

Tongue weight at the time this pic was taken was 840.

Glad to have this forum around! Used some of the information to get some upgraded springs (TTC-1223) and Timbrens (DR1500DQ) for my 2015 1500 Laramie. She towed the racecar up to VIR without Any issues! 28ft enclosed with car and tools.
