Not sure I like how Siri works with this latest update. Seems slow to respond and full of errors. Anyone else liking it?

Did your truck come with an 8.4 from the factory? If so, go for it. If not, you can still attempt the flash but it is very important you download the correct firmware package from UConnect.

Did you install an 8.4 radio (RA3 or RA4)? If so, do you have the VIN of the truck your 8.4 came out of?No, my truck came with RA1.
No he doesn't have a VIN, but the Pn he posted indicates it is a 2016 Ra4.Did you install an 8.4 radio (RA3 or RA4)? If so, do you have the VIN of the truck your 8.4 came out of?

Not sure where he got it but he is also using the OEMAutoPartsCo bezel (not a full conversion).

Well you may be able to contact them for the correct firmware package. You can attempt a download and install yourself based on the info you have, but if you flash the wrong firmware you may have issues or a brick.I purchased the unit on ebay. It included the harness, and bezel. I believe the guy I bought it from bought it all together as a kit from oemautoparts.com
Unfortunately, he was not able to provide the vin number for the donor truck.
Your radio pn label indicates it's a 2016 Ra4/vp4-na and your fw shows 15.41.4 (vs the 15.44.4 I pulled previously off the Ram uConnect update site w/valid vin, maybe I have a typo).
You can certainly update to the latest 16.09.09 fw but there is obviously no guarantee you will be able to roll back to 15.41.4 later.
See post 5 for 2016 fw and make sure you verify the md5 of the downloaded file to make sure you don't get a bad D/L.
I read somewhere that there is a new update - possibly having something to do with Apple iOS 10
Can anyone confirm this?

I don't believe that's the case. 16.33.29 was released last month for 2016 models. I'm not sure if there was a similar update for earlier years. I never bothered to install it because there was nothing exciting in the release notes. I'm on my phone now so it's a pain to link, but if you do a search for 08-057-16_REV.A you can see what was fixed.

Updated post 5 with the 2016 RA4 v16.33.29 fw link, TSB Change notes, and update directions.
Note: Took a look online at a few 2017 Rams with RA4's and they appear to be the same radios/architecture. Looks like people will be able to convert ra1/ra2 radios to the 8.4's for another year.
Yes, per the update directions for the last 2016 fw (post 5), there will be two files.I extracted the update file to a thumb drive. Used the md5 checker and codes match (whatever that means)
I emptied the thumb drive before extracting to it, after extraction it shows 2 files:
swdl.iso
swdl.upd
is this ok? The posts in this thread say the only file should be swdl.iso
Yes, per the update directions for the last 2016 fw (post 5), there will be two files.
(The prior releases only had one file)
I will update post 5 later.
