Has anyone lowered there spare and applied fluid film to the chain and up into the the mechinisrm? Would it help in the salt belt? Thanks all.

Sure it would. Only downside of Fluid Film - it drips all over the place when it gets hot and adheres all kinds of dirt and dust.

I sprayed the underside of my truck before the snow hit last winter. Into the frame rails, rockers, etc.

I had to crawl back under it the other day to retighten the muffler clamp, and noticed that there's still a fair amount where it was sprayed, so it holds up well.

Yeah there was a lot of dust/dirt, but I haven't ever seen drips in the driveway when it got hot. I'm talking WI hot, though, not AZ hot so YMMV
