Just picked up my 17 Big Horn today.

I've been doing some research and seems you all recommend doing an oil catch can.

Is there any one that you all recommend over the other?

I'd like to get this done ASAP!!

I have both the Billet and Moroso. The Billet is smaller and you unscrew the cup to empty, the Moroso has a larger capacity and has a drain valve you open to empty the contents. You can also connect a hose to the moroso drain if so desired.

Lots of room in the RAM engine compartment, so either will work and they both are effective. Both are quality made and made from billet aluminum. Also both are available in different finishes.

Here's a description of one of the Morso versions, the one I installed. I'm sure one of the forum sponsors sells them.

Your choice, they seem to be about the same price. I went with the Moroso the second time because of the more convenient drain valve and larger capacity. There was a comparison/review thread awhile ago, there are a couple other ones available but don't recall them off hand.

Billet Catch Can and get it from Moe's (preferred Vendor here).

Just put mine in last week! Thanks Moe's!

Clarification: I have no experience with the Moroso...just going with what I know. I had a Billet Catch Can on my Durango R/T also.

Good luck with your choice!

Just saying that the Moroso unit for one seems to function better than the Billet. Moe should offered it. There is an unbiased comparison test/review around here somewhere with a number of alternatives including a cheap DYI.... :)

The Moroso one comes with a sticker,so it's good for a 15hp increase,lol.

I'd go with the Moroso one,as stated it holds more and the drain valve is very convenient, especially if you attach a hose to it,and run it down under the truck as previously stated.

Matt / Moe's i'm guessing couldn't get as big a break on the wholesale price from Moroso, leaving him less of a mark-up option compared to the BT cans.

I will vote for Billet Technology also. I put their CC on my Challenger and Ram. They work great.

About 15-20 minutes install(if the ends of the hoses stretch for you--including a beer---I check mine every time I change the oil--or after a long road trip.

For a HP increase, it would have to come with a sticker. As far as I know, none of the current offerings come with a sticker so no additional increase in HP.:Big Laugh:
My Billet tech from Moe's came with a Moe's sticker. Is that good for about 7.5 HP?

Are these easy to install?

Typically how often do these need to be drained?

Mine took about 15 minutes max. Just a matter of mounting it...with the hardware, single bolt and adapter, it came with and putting the two hoses on. There is a youtube video on exactly what to do.

I had a new can of mineral spirits and boy did it help. Just a touch to help put the adapters into the hoses.

Turned out perfect.

On my Durango R/T I emptied it every oil change. I found it very full once so on the Ram I'll be doing it every 3K-4K miles or after a long trip.

Can I just get the Moe's sticker and increase HP? I prefer the oil to go through my engine instead of in a catch can because I paid for the oil and want my monies worth. Plus, I can tell people its a gas/oil hybrid.

Thanks for that. Really easy. Wonder why they couldn't make that bracket without having to use the spacer. You'd think they'd be able to machine that bracket with the spacer made into it.

what is wrong with the $30.00 ones ?
Did you ever hear that you get what you pay for? I looked at alot of them from $30 to ones that were out of sight. I decided on the Billet Tech one because it came with bracket and pluming for the 5.7 Hemi, and it was recommended by alot of guys on the forum. The Billet Tech is litteraly a plug and play deal, 1 bolt and it's mounted and looks like it's supposed to be there. I've never seen the other ones that have been recommended but they must be good to be recommended on here. The one I got also fell into the price range that I was willing to spend.

Buy the one that has been put through the same number of Dyno/vehicle durability tests as OEM, with proven results
