I guess we all are so used to the 4th gen shape that the styling kinda leaves bit of getting used to. But that all black Laramie is off the hook. Certainly better that what Chevy or Ford are bringing out to the market.

Even the powertrain is a something revolutionary. No Turbocharging but this hybrid system should have the potential to be more economical than Ford's Ecoboost and the fact that they are still keeping the same HEMI is cool.
I for one think that Ram have done really well with this one.

The video makes it sound like the eTorque system is standard on both the Pentastar V6 and Hemi V8 so buyers will not be able to opt out of it if they don't want it. And since all eTorque engines come standard with an engine stop-start system, buyers will not be able to opt out of that annoying feature either.

It's likely a 3k battery plus labor. Honestly though there are armies of the Toyota Prius hybrids out there with hundreds of thousands of miles with the original battery.

The Ram eTorque system uses a lithium 48v battery pack with separate 12v output. The standard Prius uses a 202V nickel-metal hydride pack and a separate 12v battery for system bootup.

There are obdii devises that permanently turn off start-stop so no worries.

Sounded like this takes place of the starter so there won’t be any overrides for this design.

At no point did I ever like previous generation of any car/truck. This will be no different. Anybody that says this looks ugly or “I’m glad I got my current truck” is just lying to himself. This happens every generation.
Hey Chill, 3 things...

1. It's ugly.
2. Choose your words wisely, you never know who you're talking to. Calling a bunch of us liars is not smart.
3. IT'S UGLY!

Not 1st, 2nd or 3rd? No Trophy!

Gonna wait for the Gen5 2500 myself. Love the interior of the new 1500, and that’s it.

Same, really looking forward to the new 2500. Guessing it will come out about a year from now?

From what i understand the "sport" package s now a buildable option on the Laramie trim. Kinda makes sense from a manufacturing point of view. It's just an option now rather then a model.

I think on the new laramie sport we'll get the hood they showed and all the color matching, unique rims possibly even 22", but I didn't see a unique bumper to the sport trim.

Either way, it's gonna be awful hard for me to hold out on that black Laramie sport.... My 17 is only 6months old though. This is the first time I can honestly say i wish I would have waited for the new gen release.

This is the way the 2500/3500 has been for a while now. The "sport appearance" technically on Laramie or Big Horn trims. Makes more sense to do it that way to me.

Yes, me too. Hopefully they make the truck look beefier and meaner for HD. Have the grill continue outward on the bottom edges instead of going in. Update the gas drive train.

If they do good with the HD version I would definitely stay in a Ram down the road when I decide to sell or trade.

I still don't see longevity being an issue.

I always liked the 1st gens.
I always like the 2nd gens.
I never liked & still don’t like the early 3rd gens.
I never liked & still don’t like the late 3rd gens.

I only like certain 4th gens.

I feel the same about the 5th gens.

I am very truthful to myself.

They said in the video it’s an option now on the Rebel, you can now buy a Rebel with regular suspension

Ahh got it

That Black Laramie might just be my next truck. I will wait for the 20% - 30% discounts though.

I was kind of disappointed they didn't upgrade the engines, they just stuck an electric start/generator on there. I'm one of those people that turns me off the most, I don't want my truck turning off at red lights. Can you imagine how weird thats gonna be with loud exhaust? I hope they all don't come standard with those damn things.

The new Rams have that start/stop crap? Hmm.

Well, hopefully they made it to where you can shut that crap off.

I was excited about the screen but after watching a presentation on it I found that it was really just a pair of 8.4 displays. The hybrid system is very strange. From what I could tell they seem to be assisting the engine by turning a drive belt attached to the crank...it is novel.

Most vehicles I've seen with that have an ability to disable it in the settings features.
