The other main thing that is ruining this for me is the boot time. I thought my Pioneer AVIC I had once was horrible at 10+ seconds. Shame they can't just set it up somehow with a sleep feature. Then like most other android phones/tablets I've had...if it needs to reboot/refresh then it just powers down and restarts. lol Or even prompt for it.
Haha I had the same AVIC, F90BT I believe.

@SitKneelBend when I hear from them I'll ask about if it possible. I wouldn't expect a true answer though, these guys are tough to get answers from.

@61N150W Glad to hear it man!! Is your cluster and radio matching hour formats? (both 12hr ?)

Haha, so no, the cluster is still in 24 hour format. I can live with that, it was the litre per/km and temp in Celsius that was bugging me. I'll probably just remove the clock from the cluster.

I wrote the seller, asking about the potential for improvements in the microphone (or the ability to use an external) and their response was...
"Pls use your original radio gps and turn the voice to the maximum, and then install our radio gps then will be OK."
Can anyone make sense of what they are requesting I try? Was there a setting on my stock radio to adjust the Mic sensitivity? I assume they mean microphone when they write "gps".

*Edit* They asked me to take a picture of the sound issue....lol!

Each email I get from an engineer is pretty much some canned response clearly not even reading what my issues are. I've sent yet another email to the person I've been dealing with from the start about a return. Sometimes we just have to take a Gamble

The more and more I see from you guys, the more it confirms what I've come to expect from cheap chinese radios. It works, but not that well, and support sucks.

I think they want you to re-install your factory unit, then make a phone call and turn the volume all the way up. Then put their head unit back in. Not sure how that would solve the issue but it's all I can think of.

Yeah, I'm with you on that and thinking that's what they're asking.

Wow, if right you really have a gift for comprehending language barriers. That is an excellent deduction...

They have a 30 day refund period. I've mentioned that I may return it to their support services. They responded by asking me to hold on and see if they can fix the issues. They are just trying to hold onto sales and can't blame them for that. I told them I would give their fixes a try and if unsuccessful, I would be returning.
If they get obnoxious about it, I'll just go through PayPal to get a refund.

Well I did get a response in asking about changing the picture and I'll give it a try tomorrow. They sent a video which sort of shows things but all of the prompts are in another language so if I get it to work I'll shoot a quick video but heres the walk through

"1.Download the picture and Android BootLogo.apk into your USB storage
2.plug into your car ,click the file and find the USB storage ,Copy the 3 files into car's storage and paste . click the bootlog.apk and operate it ,then click the setting as screen logo ."
They did include the bootlogo.apk file. Now just waiting to see if they address actual issues haha

Sorry man, my inquiry was meant as an afterthought, not the priority!

It’s good to see they’re at least trying to address the issues. That says something. And of course they’re trying to keep sales up.

It shows that they do at least respond.. when it's something they can answer haha. The microphone I ordered is due for delivery tomorrow so with any luck by tomorrow evening I should at least know if there is any better microphone option for the radio.

At this point if I can get the mic to work (a wired in new mic), the proper climate temperature, and (least important) 12hr cluster time I'll be pretty satisfied. Using it since Friday i have to say its really become second nature even some of the clunkier functions of the radio.

Do me a solid and take some pictures if you crack the case open and get a good look at the back. What I'm hoping your find is two nice little wires heading to the built in mic which can be easily accessed.

Already done this, there is a PCB on the bottom which has two solder points for the mic.

@SitKneelBend if you can find me a pinout of the wiring harness that shows where the hell the mic is I'll certainly try. I've had no luck finding it yet though.

You are on it dude. Much Appreciated. Are you thinking of just adding an additional line out or disconnecting the mic that's present now?
