Finally, found a place to mount my cell phone within view. The center console wasn’t cutting it.

Bayou Goat Mounting Plate along with a Ram Mount suction cup and my old X-Grip.

Got baby’s first oil change today. Had to pay extra for the full-synthetic oil, only an extra 3 bucks a quart. Was gonna have the DRL’s activated but they said that option wasn’t available... maybe it’s because it’s a 2018 maybe? I dunno.

I had my DRL’s activated when I bought my ‘18. They had no choice, I wouldn’t walk into finance office until it was being done!

I know it’s a pain because the manager (one of them), has to add the code to your VIN before the tech can update the ECM.

I gave them the following sheet (I forgot which member is OP).

They said they tried to enable the DRL feature but the tech said that the option to turn them on in the computer wasn’t there. If it is actually there, I haven’t the slightest idea of why they’d wanna make up some reason to not make money off of me by saying they can’t enable it if they actually can. That doesn’t make any sense. It’s not like I’m wanting my speedo recalibrated for big-ass tires or somethin’, or to change the TPMS differential.

I guess my only options are this OBD-II thing that basically does what the dealer said they couldn’t do, or this upgraded white/amber LED replacement panel thing from Diode Dynamics. I kinda like the second option better because it’s the white LED’s but I just don’t know how involved it is or what all this kit consists of to replace the factory LED panels with these but it would sure look cool.

Basically opening up your headlights (permaseal) which are a pain in the ass to do. Remove panel take out the stock led boards then taping or soldering 4 wires together. Hardest part is opening and resealing of the headlights.

*Grumble*.....lol. I don’t think I wanna go down that road because that involves putting your headlights in the oven, doesn’t it? Screw that noise...lol. I’d much rather have white but I think enabling the factory amber DRL’s is much easier, but I’m curious...if the dealer says they can’t turn them on, how does this little OBD-II thing enable them?

Is it only for the ‘17s. I seen someone said they got it on a 12. If not I’m yet to receive a recall on my ‘12

I have a 12 and got one also.

Got all my emblems changed out. I wanted all gloss black. Not easy to find, everything is matte pretty much these days. The hemi emblem was the only one I couldn’t find oem gloss. Had to do aftermarket. My rims are gloss black and I plan on handles and mirrors soon as well.

New set of Husky X-Act Contour mats front and rear. Fit perfectly and look great. Going to save the stock ones for when I trade or sell the truck years down the line.

Ordered them from Nick@Gotexhaust (vendor here). Quick shipping...thanks Nick!

And you’d still have to get the DRL’s activated for those white LED’s to light up. One of the managers at the dealer will have to allow it in the system before the tech can turn it on.

Someone else posted that the OBD-II didn’t work with the 2018 before.

Yep requires an oven. You could use a heat gun or a heat gun attached to a box (makeshift oven) but when it’s to easy to burn and warp the lense/plastic since it’s not constant heat. Oven is constant and when dealing with permaseal an oven is the way to go.

Based on a recent phone call I just made, how exactly were you able to get your DRL’s activated on your 2018 at the dealer because at first, I just figured the dealership yesterday was pulling my leg giving me the runaround saying they couldn’t do it but, I just got off the phone with OBD genie and even they said that they don’t have a product available for anything 2018 and even told me my dealership wasn’t lying about saying they were unable to turn the OEM DRL’s on so what gives?...lol. Maybe your dealer needs to call my dealer....[emoji41]

No thank ya...lol. If I gotta meticulously and very, very carefully crack open a brand new set of headlights just to get the white LED’s in them, I’d just assume buy a brand new set of aftermarket lights that already has them installed. Besides- as of now, there’s no way to enable the DRL circuit that those white LED’s need to function correctly unless— they don’t even require the factory circuit in the first place.....[emoji848]
