My truck is a 2012, my truck has been recalled. Put your VIN here to see if there are open recalls. https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/recalls/search.htmlIs it only for the ‘17s. I seen someone said they got it on a 12. If not I’m yet to receive a recall on my ‘12

Got baby’s first oil change today. Had to pay extra for the full-synthetic oil, only an extra 3 bucks a quart. Was gonna have the DRL’s activated but they said that option wasn’t available... maybe it’s because it’s a 2018 maybe? I dunno.

I had my DRL’s activated when I bought my ‘18. They had no choice, I wouldn’t walk into finance office until it was being done!
I know it’s a pain because the manager (one of them), has to add the code to your VIN before the tech can update the ECM.
I gave them the following sheet (I forgot which member is OP).

They said they tried to enable the DRL feature but the tech said that the option to turn them on in the computer wasn’t there. If it is actually there, I haven’t the slightest idea of why they’d wanna make up some reason to not make money off of me by saying they can’t enable it if they actually can. That doesn’t make any sense. It’s not like I’m wanting my speedo recalibrated for big-ass tires or somethin’, or to change the TPMS differential.
I guess my only options are this OBD-II thing that basically does what the dealer said they couldn’t do, or this upgraded white/amber LED replacement panel thing from Diode Dynamics. I kinda like the second option better because it’s the white LED’s but I just don’t know how involved it is or what all this kit consists of to replace the factory LED panels with these but it would sure look cool.

Basically opening up your headlights (permaseal) which are a pain in the ass to do. Remove panel take out the stock led boards then taping or soldering 4 wires together. Hardest part is opening and resealing of the headlights.

*Grumble*.....lol. I don’t think I wanna go down that road because that involves putting your headlights in the oven, doesn’t it? Screw that noise...lol. I’d much rather have white but I think enabling the factory amber DRL’s is much easier, but I’m curious...if the dealer says they can’t turn them on, how does this little OBD-II thing enable them?

You put them on your truck yet? If so what’s your impression so far ?

Yep requires an oven. You could use a heat gun or a heat gun attached to a box (makeshift oven) but when it’s to easy to burn and warp the lense/plastic since it’s not constant heat. Oven is constant and when dealing with permaseal an oven is the way to go.
