dual alternators would only be needed if you wanted a lot of 12v acc like lights winches or wanted to run a big invertor.

I've got a few more hours to edit my order...do I need dual alternators? I have it in the order now, but trying to trim costs if I can. Truck will be a DD mostly and pulling a travel trailer 7-10 weekends a season.

How about the anti-spin differential? Yes/no?

Ctr Stop Lamp w/cargo camera? Yes/no?

Thoughts? Thanks fellas!

No need for dual alternators for towing.
Ctr Stop Camera is great if you will be using a gooseneck / 5th wheel.

Worth noting about the CHMSL camera is that it will display on the 8.4 screen and your rear tailgate camera will now display in a small screen within the rear view mirror. The CHMSL camera option also negates the Convenience Package (auto wipers, auto high beams).

I haven't been impressed yet with the auto wipers or auto high beams.

What's the auto wipers and high beams. Lol. Us poor folk don't know what that is. Lol. I can turn my own wipers on and high beams. Lol.

I hear you! This is the nicest vehicle I've ever owned. We have a travel trailer now, and DW said, "If you want me to spend hours sitting in a truck to go camping, it better be nice". Thankfully Laramie was nice enough. Thank goodness she didn't see a Laramie Longhorn or Laramie Limited!

Oh, I agree on not needing auto wipers and auto high beams. I skipped that option as I hate auto wipers and I can turn the high beams on all by myself. I just wanted to point out that conflict with those two options (CHMSL camera and the Convenience Package).

The same could be said for the CHMSL camera too. People have been hitching up goosenecks and fifthwheels for a very long time without them.

I am liking what I see on 6.4 more and more. If you read further into the derating of the 6.4 for the higher GVW's, the redline is reduced to 4,600 rpms instead of the standard 5,600 rpms. This is the only change to the motor. Ram talks about this more in relation to the cab & chassis models for commercial use.

My 2012 2500 4x4 5.7 hemi gets about 13.5-14.5 on my 80 mile commute.

On the oil changes, some of the dealers offer deals built into the sale of the vehicle. Our dealer adds $200 to the cost of the the vehicle but you get lifetime oil changes for $21.95 with tax. I haven't changed my own oil in years. :favorites13:

Well, beyond words right now. Truck is barely a month old, drove over to Santa Fe on Friday for a little weekend ski trip. Was coming down the mountain this afternoon when the low oil pressure warning came on. Noticed the oil pressure gauge started fluctuating wildly from 0 to normal. Since i was on a two lane mountain road, it took me about a mile before i safely reached a turnout where i could pull over. I popped the hood and the engine compartment was covered in oil, no idea where it was coming from. Long story short, with 2200 miles my baby was towed to the nearest dealer in Santa Fe. Im beyond pissed. Never had one single hiccup with my 1500, i know its probably something minor but i cant help feeling a slight disconnect with the truck now.

Oh no, oil was everywhere, there was little chance to diagnose on the side of the road. So the dealer said it appeared to be the gasket between the oil filter housing and the engine itself. Of course the part had to be ordered, supposed to be here first thing this morning and repaired today. My dealer back in Austin did get us a rental, so at least were still mobile. I'll keep y'all posted.
